must be an hour by jet–I’m almost 2 hours away and I can’t get blacked out games, WTF?

Thanks for the info…people here in Washington have never had to deal with a blackout, so I have no idea what it entails.
As for the logo, I agree, the Native American is a little on the dark side. As a graphic artist, I would like to see the logo redesigned into a bloody tomahawk.
Just keeping my fingers crossed that the Skins come out with a win this weekend. Every Redskin fan should have an appreciation for the Lions considering what happened last year. I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that this will be the 3rd year in a row that the skins have traveled to Detroit. What gives?

Jesse Jackson, concerned for disenfranchised fans, is buying the tickets. There will be no more blackouts for Detroit. The feds are buying all future tickets and giving them away.

The Lions should not be concerned about not selling 10,000 tickets at roughly $100 per.
Why, this means there will be 10,000 less fans angry as hell with you for losing again.
Matter of fact, if no one bought tickets, you wouldn’t make anyone angry. Your TV fans won’t listen to game on radio when there are other games on TV thus they won’t know if you won or lost so they won’t be angry either.
Thus, the Lions are in a can’t lose situation.

The recession has abated. Many of the folks who still have not found employment are either unemployable or they don’t want to work. Those who sucked at the teat of gigs that paid $28 per hour to thoroughly under-educated drones should have been getting skills/job training or an education.

i agree right now, its rediculous in this market. with only a 16 game season, you risk putting a large amount of the season off the air..i definetly cant afford tickets, pay for school, and whatnot…its just a league with a monarchical view of itself that thinks its fans dont deserve to watch if they cant fill the seats at an absurd price.

second…why would a blackout in Detroit have any effect on a game in VA? people an hour outside of Detroit will still get the game…

Dear Lions Fan,
As we’ve learned here in Tampa, a blackout only means you’re watching the game via the internet as opposed to on TV. Hell, if you have an HDMI output on your computer then you’re good to go. All the Buccaneer home games have been blacked out and we’re watching them in HD glory. All hail the internet.
