We learned not long after Thursday’s non-update update regarding Jenn Sterger’s deliberations as to whether she’ll cooperate with the league’s Brett Favre investigation that the NFL has not yet given her a deadline to make a decision. (Maybe she’s waiting to show up until after training camp ends.)
I decided not to post it right away, because we already had a fresh Sterger story. And then I forgot to post it.
Rosenthal’s story on the cancellation of The Daily Line has reminded me that I forgot to post the follow-up on the absence of a deadline. So my first thought was to once again wait, because Rosenthal has just posted a Sterger story. But if I wait again, I’ll forget again.
(And, no, you can’t have the last 20 seconds of your life back.)
At some point, the league will give her a deadline. Alternatively, the league will simply say without warning, “Too late.” Like the instant while playing the game of Perfection when all those freaking yellow pieces go flying everywhere.
Of course, the sooner they talk to Sterger, the sooner Goodell will have to suspend Favre. Goodell doesn’t want to be the guy that benced Favre and ends his start streak.
She has no paycheck now, so Favre better pay up or she will rat him out!
Versus was smart to axe that show since she won’t comply. Now hire back the 3 guys, with another hot chick and call the show somethign else!
The NFL doesn’t need to give her a deadline, they know she has nothing.
Seems Versus gave her a deadline of their own though…..serves her right, the gold digging WITCH(b)
Why should she adhere to any deadline the NFL gives her?
So when I submitted this five hours ago in frustration over Goodell dragging out this nonsense, you guys decided it was … what? Offensive? Too much for delicate PFT eyes? I’m trying to figure out why all my posts were rejected today. If you could just point out the dirty word …
What would it take to recall Goodell? Seriously, Florio.
He’s slap-happy about expanding into the EU, Canada, and Mexico. But the World League failed. The only player resource is the NCAA, which can’t produce enough QB talent for the current 32 teams. U.S. fans vehemently oppose overseas expansion.
He rewrote PCP rules to suspend Roethlisberger, but didn’t continue with Young, Underwood, or the KC Chiefs’ harem–proving his only concern is bad press.
He drags heels on Sterger after she’s admitted it all about money–making the NFL complicit in an extortion plot. His skewed belief that he’s appeasing female audiences by championing Sterger demonstrates he’s clueless about average fans.
His inept communication plan created needless confusion and chaos with players, coaches, owners, and fans following Hard-Hit Sunday.
Five years after SBXL, he still hasn’t addressed officiating issues. Fans care more about maintaining integrity on the field than whether Favre tried to hook up with a centerfold.
He’s painting fields pink but the league cut funding for research in to spinal injuries, which is much more relevant for players.
His priorities are embarrassingly off the mark. He needs to go away.
