I still can’t believe you treat the Bay Area and Dallas-Fort Worth markets like they’re Boise and Peoria or something. Both the Giants and Rangers play in HUGE television markets in cities that have never won the world series. Of course football will get better ratings Sunday night, because that’s just who we are now, but comparing the World Series to the Stanley Cup is dumb.

Well this looks like the first allusion to a New York vs New York Super Bowl I’ve seen in 2010. We know how that has turned in previous years. Let’s take 2008, for example, Tom Brady goes down week 1, the Jesters have Brettney Favre, Mangina, 8-3 start. The Giants, meanwhile, defending SB champs are te cat’s meow throughout most of the season, locking up home field advantage in the NFC.
What happens? The (va) Giants blow home field advantage right off the bat with an embarrassing home loss to the Eagles, the Jesters have an even more epic collapse down the stretch to the delight of everybody.
In short, screw the Jesters, screw the Giants, screw New York. Nobody wants to see either team, frankly, in the Super Bowl, and most certanly not an all NY matchup. Ever wonder why every Jesters-Giants game is played at 1pm and not at 4:15 or prime time? It’s because NOONE OUTSIDE OF NY WANTS TO SEE IT.

I agree with what SaintsAmericasTeam said. It’s utterly useless to throw Reggie Bush out there if he’s not fully ready and could re-injure himself. It would be quite foolish to do that.

All this crap that you pundits are making about how Sean Payton “feels” about this player or that is looking like you don’t have enough to write about.
Bush has not been “cleared” to play. He said yesterday it will be a coaches decision. The way Reggie plays the game it’s imperative that he be able to make his cuts. Bush and Payton have a good report. I’m sure the right decision will be made without the help of any bloggers.
As for Pierre Thomas, a lot has been made of a rift between coach and player that has not been substantiated. Just rumor. Thomas still has swelling and pain. He’s back on crutches per physician’s orders.
As fans, we certainly miss our two backs but if we intend to make a run in the second half of the season it would not be prudent to have these key players re injure themselves in an AFC game that will probably result in the Saints being 4-4. The physical toughness of the Steeler’s defensive line will give the coaches pause when they are making a decision about our future season.
So I would be careful about making light of the toughness of these players. It will not be their decision to make alone.

Why are you stating as a fact that the Jets are the best team in the NFL? They lost to the Ravens at home, IIRC, and have won several close games against mediocre to bad teams. You could make a good case for the Steelers, Ravens, Pats, and Jets as the best team in the league, and it is ridiculous to elevate the Jets above these other three teams just so you can romanticize about the possibility of a New York-New York Super Bowl.

The answer on Reggie Bush is easy: he’s a big time wuss. For as long as I’ve watched the guy play, since his days at SC, I’ve never seen someone avoid contact as much as him. Guy hunting you down and the side line is right there? Reggie avoids contact and timidly goes out of bounds. Before, it was arguable whether or not he was self preserving in the interest of keeping his career going as long as possible. Now it’s obvious that he’s just a wuss.

Bush was cleared to “practice”, not “play”, you dipshit. It’s up to the staff to decide whether he’s ready to go. From what they’ve seen, the coaches and trainers may not think he’s ready yet.
Your hard-on for Reggie Bush is getting downright creepy. Someday you’ll be in the same room with him (unlike Super Bowl media day, which you avoided like a little bitch in fear of being face to face with him) and I hope he breaks your jaw.

Yet if it were a concussion and he was medically cleared, you’d have no problem with it. Being medically cleared doesn’t equal ready to play. If he can’t run and cut like he usually can, the Steelers would find that out early on so any ideas of him being a decoy would be gone before the 2nd possession.
