Terrell Owens stays hot for the Bengals

Terrell Owens entered Sunday’s game with the Dolphins on pace for his best season since 2007 and hasn’t done anything to change that after one series.

Owens caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Carson Palmer to put the Bengals on the board first in a game that’s crucial to their hopes of staying relevant in the second half of the season. Owens had one other catch on the impressive 15-play, 86-yard drive by Cincinnati, and he now has 42 catches for 580 yards so far this year. Owens only had 55 catches for 829 yards for Buffalo last season.

The touchdown catch came against beleaguered Dolphins cornerback Jason Allen. His hold on the job over Sean Smith has become tenuous in recent weeks and it will be interesting to see if Owens’s score pushes Tony Sparano to make a change that many in Miami have been calling for him to make.
