Wade hopes he hasn’t lost his team

Here’s Cowboys coach Wade Phillips talking about Sunday’s disappointing home loss to the Jaguars, which dropped Dallas to 1-6.

He says he hopes he hasn’t lost his team.  Based on his demeanor, it seems like he fears that he has.

As to whether he’ll finish the season as coach of the Cowboys, it doesn’t matter.  Owner Jerry Jones said that Phillips won’t be fired during the campaign.

As a Cowboys fan, my opinion wont be popular. However, I dont put it on Wade. WP took this job with his hands tied behind his back. The guy couldnt even pick his own staff. To take a HC job, when the OC you have to use is already on staff…. when every REAL decision has to go through the GM…. You are NOT going to come out on top. Multiple times over the last couple seasons, Jerry has shown… he is the one calling the shots. Wade has only been a puppet. In the end, it wouldnt matter who the coach was, under those circumstances because, the coach is Jerry Jones.
JJ has made it perfectly clear who’s team this is, who’s running it, and for us faithfull fans, who’s running it into the ground. Until the GM is fired, we are toast. Vince Lombardi couldnt coach these guys to the playoffs under the constraints that Jerry has put on Wade.

Six Cryboys Myths – one for each loss – dispelled
    Myth #
    1. The Cryboys have the most talented team in the NFL. Wrong. Nearly impossible to make a case for this any more when you are sporting a 1-6 record.
    2. The Cryboys are the best 1-6 team in the NFL. Wrong. Close though. The Panthers are the best 1-6 team because they have over-achieved while the Cryboys have under-achieved.
    3. The Cryboys playoff hopes are NOT dead. Wrong. At 1-6, it will now take nine Acts of God to make the playoffs, and one team has never benefited from that many in one season in the history of the NFL.
    4. The Cryboys are America’s Team. Wrong. They are a hapless franchise that nobody outside of Dallas cares about, except for caring that they lose every game they play.
    5. The Cryboys will host Super Bowl XLV. Wrong. Generally, “hosting” means you are directly involved in the event. SB XLV will merely be played in the stadium that the Cryboys routinely lose in.
    6. It was a good idea that the Cryboys touted themselves in the pre-season as the most talented team in the NFL and the probable host of SB XLV. Wrong. If you’re must talk trash, it’s always better to talk trash after you’ve accomlished something, NOT before a season starts and you’ve done absolutely nothing yet.

He’s a friggin’ joke! Jerry Jones doesn’t want to fire this bozo because it will make him look bad. Uh….Jerry… the Cowboys football players have that locked up. The Dallas Cowboys are an embarrassment to (many of) us in the State of Texas. It’s bad enough that the Longhorns are tanking.. but the Cowboys too? The Cowboys need someone like a Bill Parcells…who will not try to be a player’s friend and instead would kick ass when necessary. RC in Austin, texas

Dallas never fails to disappoint. Jerry Jones has to get his nose out of this team to be successful. The only reason Wade was hired was cause he’s too much of a bitch to stand up to Jerry and would take the job even without having any control over personnel/ a GM who knows what he’s doing.

Lost the team, the fans, and pretty much everyone else. The problems start with the owner and trickle down throughout the entire organization.
    Gonna be another 1-15 season.

Wade will be selling used cars somewhere this time next year. He’ll suck at that too.

The fact that it came out of his mouth, well dah. What suck is the chumps are playing for a top 10 pick next draft, they will quit and tank the rest of the season in true cowgirl style.

No coaches will be fired until the labor situation is resolved. No owner is going to buy out the old coach and pay a new coach for this season and next season when next season might not happen.

  31. stubabe says: Oct 31, 2010 8:16 PM

For mike s – Not true. You replace any head coach and the new one gets a contract that stipulates no season next year, no paycheck, same as the players.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE COWBABY FANS GONE?
Most Cowboy fans have another team they can fall back on. This is your typical cowboy fan, they like to have all their bases covered.
Yes! That ‘s it cowbites fans are more like roaches they hide when they’re getting stump on and are everywhere when they are winning.

  33. rajuncajun63 says: Oct 31, 2010 8:25 PM

What is that smell??? Oh, it’s the Cowgirls….I will never forget last year after the Cowgirls beat my Saints and the smack talk from the LOSER Cowpokes started. You thought you conquered the world that night. You won the battle and we WON the war – SB44. Your organization is as pathetic as your fans…..Who Dat, We Dat, Two Dat….

  34. bluewinger says: Oct 31, 2010 8:37 PM

The first year the cowbabys went 1-15 my brother stopped being a cowboy fan. And bought a panthers hat and pronounced that he has changed team. (wow, just in time to miss that 1-15 season). But once they started winning again he was back being a cowboy fan. Now he states that he doesn’t have time to watch football. Your typical cowbaby fan.
And the NFL better not allow another 15 player deal go down again, to help the rebuild the cowboys. The coboyz suck and I like it that way.

  35. cusoman says: Oct 31, 2010 8:42 PM

Cowboys and Vikings, two peas in a pod. Both teams overflowing with potential talent with coaches who take the talent, spit on it, chew it up, digest it, and crap it out all over the football field every weekend.

  36. troll_aikman8 says: Oct 31, 2010 8:59 PM

Did he ever really have the team?
You can’t lose something you never had, idiot.

  37. jeffrey0215 says: Oct 31, 2010 9:09 PM

uh, wade, there is no team to lose

  38. The Fighting Wombat says: Oct 31, 2010 9:16 PM

It was never “Wade’s Team”…it’s always been Jerrah’s Team…he wants to do it all (own, GM and coach) Wade has been a figurehead since day one – and the team has known it.
Changing coaches won’t fix the problem – changing the Owner AND GM would be a great first step in the right direction…

Total Bullshit…….The CowGirls went 1-15 in 1989. The panthers didn’t enter the league til 1995.
