Monday waiver wire does not include Randy Moss

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the official Monday waiver wire has been released by the league office.

And that it doesn’t contain the name of Randy Moss.

Thus, it means that Moss has not yet officially been released.

It doesn’t mean he won’t be cut.  It only means that he hasn’t been cut yet.

Meanwhile, Glazer says that receiver Percy Harvin is “livid” with the development.  Moss, Harvin, and quarterback Tarvaris Jackson are represented by agent Joel Segal.

Zigi Wilf needs to go into the locker room and tell his team they they will not waive Randy Moss and that Leslie Frazier will be the head coach for the remainder of the season.
Childress has to go and has to go now!!!!!!!!!

I’m not following here. Some reporter is off, Moss’s agent has spoke on the issue, saying Randy is “very sad he was waived” I find it hard to believe his agent has said this and Randy still hasn’t heard the news.

What a joke of an organization. The soon to be Los Angeles Vikings.

  8. FinFan6886 says: Nov 1, 2010 5:40 PM

Harvin is livid because he is a much better option when the safeties are covering Moss…it has nothing to do with player or agent solidarity

  9. scorpiodsu says: Nov 1, 2010 5:40 PM

I’d be pissed too if I was Harvin. You see how wide open he is with Moss taking 2 defenders deep with him almost every play? He’s not what he used to be but he still has a big impact on the field of play. Does he take some plays off? Of course. The problem is the defenders don’t know which plays he will take off.

  12. sven_ftw says: Nov 1, 2010 5:43 PM

so, word is that this was a chilly move that wasn’t even cleared through the front office, yet chilly’s contract gives him the right.
    what a douche.

  13. Mike Rendahl says: Nov 1, 2010 5:43 PM

I saw this coming too, I knew Percy would not be hot about this. Randy Moss is such a intelligent and sometimes too passionate of a player that people who really know the guy are going to back him up. Don’t be surprised if Favre, who obviously has had issues with our head coach says, “you cut Moss and I am out of here!” Who do you think Favre would choose? Childress or Moss? Childress can’t challenge a play to save his life and Randy knows what you have to do to win. Obviously Childress see’s Moss as a threat

  15. neuropsych says: Nov 1, 2010 5:44 PM

This means there is still a chance the Vikes will cut Chilly instead of Moss. I am embarrassed to be a Vikings fan. What a joke of a franchise we are. A complete and utter imploding pile of garbage. Even the first pick in the draft wouldn’t salvage this mess. We have completely salvaged our future with the garbage contract to “the demented one,” the good players on our team are as good as gone, the city will revolt against chilly and the team, blackouts will be had, and the team might as well move so we can start over in a few years. I can’t quite cheer for the Pack but you were all right in every single way.
    Go Lions!?

  16. Fran the Man says: Nov 1, 2010 5:44 PM

Oh man, I am so hoping that Childress made the move on his own to waive Moss and Wilf got a hold of it and stopped it.
The best news for all Viking fans and players will be a press conference shortly announcing Childress’s firing.
Pleas Ziggy, do what the entire team wants you to do and FIRE THE MORON.

Good to see this locker room literally melting.
Look to see Favre pull the pin by next game, too.
I’d almost feel bad for Vikes fans…almost. What will be the icing on the gravy on the whipped cream, will be when the Bills…yes, the winless, shitty Bills, actually destroy the hapless Vikes in 5 weeks.
You think Harvin’s livid now….just wait. That Packer sweep you were all rooting for will happen alright…just the wrong way for MN. The Bears D will murder what’s left of this team in 2 weeks.
I wonder what kind of mind-set Zygi’s got going right about now. Maybe a nice trip out West to explore Los Angeles venues….skol.

  19. Mike Rendahl says: Nov 1, 2010 5:46 PM

Childress has lost this team, Moss still gave us our best chance to win yesterday by drawing double coverage all day long. Of course Childress took Moss out of the game on 4 & 1 when we tried to score a TD instead of going for the field goal. Another brain buster from Childress…

Please let this be the watershed moment when the Vikings fire Childress, appoint Frasier as HC, bring Moss back and have Rice start in 2 weeks time and watch the massive turnaround in the vikings.
One can only hope that the idiot that doesn’t understand clock management or when to throw the challenge flag is knocked back down to the OC for the local Kansas high school team. (then again I don’t wish that coach on any high school team)

  29. 4-84-28puretalent says: Nov 1, 2010 5:59 PM

When there is a circus like this there is only one person to look at…the coach. I have always been a Vikes fan and will admit it hurts to say that sometimes. This is one of those times. This team has all the talent in the world but no one respects this coach. If Belichek had half the talent we have he would be 7-0. I hope Ziggy does the right thing and cuts Childress. Cutting Moss will not turn this season around, but cutting Childress could.

  30. BeastOfTheEast says: Nov 1, 2010 5:59 PM

So Childress alienates his starting QB, half his team, and releases the best WR on his team because he’s too weak to control him.
How exactly does this guy still have a job?

  31. Mark McKee says: Nov 1, 2010 6:00 PM

Percy has every right to be livid. Since Moss arrived and everyone talks about how great he is, it’s hard not to notice that Percy is a much better player. Well, hopefully Moss was around long enough to teach Percy the melodramatic aspect of today’s NFL superstars. If Percy could just play at 1/2 the speed, 1/2 the time, do a little more tweeting ala Chad Johnson, (he’s not Ali, no I prefer to use his slave name) & talk some trash about his teammates ala T.O., then he would probably be making about 5 times more money, because, as we all know, football builds character!

  32. vikes_favre says: Nov 1, 2010 6:01 PM

At worst, the Vikings should do what the Bucs did to Keyshawn Johnson and suspend him for insubordination. If the Packers decided to make a claim for him, imagine how much worse this situation could be.
Childress needs to be fired, TONIGHT!

  33. epping16 says: Nov 1, 2010 6:03 PM

If he is not officially on the waiver wire, then he is still officially a member of the Vikings. Wouldn’t that make the Dolphins and Seahawks who have already contacted Moss’ agent guilty of tampering? Come on Mike…where ya at on this one?

  34. PURP4LYFE says: Nov 1, 2010 6:03 PM

Moss is NOT waived and will not be leaving MN….they are drawing up Frazier’s contract as we speak….No childo no more!! Moss will be in the dome on sun.

Official paperwork not filed yet, but my source says childress is standing behind his decision here. The front office does not have the say over the team, Childress does, and they are pissed. Wilf is extremely upset says my source.
More to come, things are looking really bad for Childress.

Trust me Viking fans. I understand. I was saying the same things 3-4 years ago. Cursing the GM for not getting “another weapon” for Favre. Making up excuses for yet another season ended with a Favre mistake – The WR’s kept running the wrong routes! And we saw what happened when Favre got what he wanted. When he was QB, Offensive Coordinator, Head Coach, and GM. We saw it under Rhodes, then Sherman. Yet we never blamed him. That’s all we hear today. It was Chilly’s fault! Not Brett who demanded Moss be brought in. It’s Chilly’s fault. You want Chilly to coach, but then enable your QB to run the team. Seen the movie, read the book, trust me the ending sucks.
I am enjoying this thoroughly, as there haven’t been enough bad things invented that could happen to your pathetic organization. I understand, but I am enjoying it to no end. Maybe you should just go ahead, fire Chilly, bring back Moss, and name Favre QB/Coach and get it over with.
    All in baby. All in.

Another bad decision by Brad and the gang. They were lucky to have both Peterson and Harvin fall to them in the draft. Otherwise, their drafts have not been as good as purported and reported. Childress is an average coach at best and can not adapt during games. I don’t blame Randy from being traded from a platinum standard team like the Patriots to the perennially dysfunctional Vikings. Heck, I’ve been a fan of the Vikings for over 35 years and have no problem admitting the obvious–the Vikings have more self-inflicted misery than any team in the history of professional sports, including the Cubs.

I dislike Brett Favre, a whole lot, but it is sad to see him have to be on such a piss-poor organization. The Vikings are terrible, piece of garbage organization. And after his first game back in GB says roughly the same thing about his former team mates and fans as Moss says about his Patriot teammates and fans. Favre is given a standing “O” by the growd and coach. And Moss is vilified and fired by the same coach and team! What a bunch of snakes and losers. No wonder Chilly has fatally lost that team. He tried to pin all of his failures with Favre on a player he traded for and only had for 3 weeks. Those Viking players know he is weak and pathetic. They have tuned him out! They are finished as long as he is the coach.
