Really, Childress never a direction for the team from the beginning. Why didn’t he build the team around Peterson ala the Jet did with LDT. Thanks to Fauvre it’s a passing team. But watch any game and this team will change its character and its tatics from quarter to quarter. Childress or his staff is lost. We are all told this team has talent but until it makes up it’s mind, this is a job too large for a tight winded guy like Childress. Aside from that I just wish they would get rid of those purple candy cane uniforms for something classic and minimal.

Sure, Randy’s impact on the defense is greater than his stats will show. But his impact on his teammates is also something to consider.

Plus, how many times do we need to be screwed-over by having the wrong amount of players on the field, and at the most critical times??? The most critical play of the Vikes-Pats game, 4th & goal at the 1, last play of the half, chance to go up by 7…..and Peterson gets stuffed. Why? Well it comes out today that Childress had only 10 men on the field again! He cost a Super Bowl trip last year with 12 men on the field. Again had problems in the Packers game 2 weeks ago. What’s it gonna take before we FIRE THIS CLOWN!!!

This Vikings situation is a mess. If Chilly was working for any other organization outside of professional sports and did the same thing (i.e. hire an employee, fire them 4 weeks later and pay out a massive severance without getting Sr. Mgmt’s buy in who pulled major strings to get that employee in the first place,) he’d be fired on the spot.

I’m one of the few Vikings fans who hasn’t ripped Childress…..UNTIL NOW. He’s gone too far. Actually, he’s lost his frickin mind! The T-Jack experiment cost us 3 years, totally wasted…but I forgave Childress when Favre arrived. Rumors are that Favre doesn’t respect Childress, and I can see why. Last year he was overbearing at times, but Favre would just tell him to back off, and things were fine. But now, this is too much. PLEASE FIRE THIS IDIOT!!!!!

Childress is just now realizing how badly he f-ed up by hitching his wagon to a worthless old has-been with an attitude problem like Favre. Of course every one of us saw this coming last year, but most of us can count to eleven as well. Childress is simply not a very smart man.
Now, having finally grasped the truth that was in front of him all along. Childress is doing everything he can to get fired, get paid, and the make a run at a college job a la Kiffin before the season (and his credibility) gets any worse than it is.
His efforts so far include: scaling back the playbook and running a once-great offense into the ground, intentionally hindering the best RB in the league, cutting the only QB on the roster that was worth a damn in preseason, keeping Favre on the field despite all of his obvious shortcomings, injuries, and poor judgement calls, refusal to use challenge flags when they clearly should be used, a return to the infamous twelve men penalty, and now, best of all, giving away a franchise icon who was just brought back, at a fairly steep price, for nothing.
His plan can’t get any more clear than it is now. He would pull a Costanza if he could, but as we all know, the Vikings have precisely zero trophies of any kind whatsoever, and he already gave his car to Favre. (It’s probably well, if he can’t read an NFL rule book we shouldn’t trust him with street signs.)
A few questions still remain though: since Childress is clearly willing to go to any length to get out of Minnesota, why haven’t Wilf and Spielman obliged him? How bad are they willing to let him destroy their investment before they decide to simply cut their losses and move on? And most of all, what does Childress do next, if this doesn’t work? What’s worse than this boneheaded Moss move? Straight up setting fire to the Dome?
…never mind. That would be doing Wilf more of a favor, if anything.

Not only has he lost the locker room…he has lost the MN fans. There is ‘Fire Childress Now’ facebook groups growing rapidly in members! Vikes fans know they have talent on their team, and the talent just isn’t being utilized correctly. I would hate to see the Vikes fans lose thier team to L.A. or something, because they cannot get a stadium because Childress is running the franchise into the ground. I have been to games at the Vikes Dome and it’s one of the loudest and funnest domes to be at…it would be a shame to see it all go bad for Minny.

What a mess. If Moss really makes it off waivers, the Vikings are stuck with his salary; should the inevitable really happen and Childress gets fired, the Vikings are stuck with his salary, too. The Vikes already have the underproducing Brett Favre and are stuck with HIS salary – at the end of this season the Vikings will have hemorrhaged away a roughly estimated $40 MILLION and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Except a bad record and one less draft pick. Yikes.
