Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney had a big game Monday night against the Texans, and as a result he’s been recognized as the AFC’s defensive player of the week.
Freeney had two sacks and a game-clinching forced fumble in leading the Colts to a 30-17 win that gave Indianapolis a 5-2 record and sole possession of first place in the AFC South.
With five sacks through seven games, Freeney is on pace for his seventh double-digit sack season.
This is Freeney’s fifth AFC player of the week award.
