Stats from bengals.com: In the first 3 games in October, Palmer had 7 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions for 992 yards. The Bengals scored 73 points. The problem, from a “win” standpoint has been the defense. They’ve stopped no one. 101 yards to Peyton Hillis (CLE)… Tampa scores 10 points in the final 1:26… Atlanta has 4 TD drives of at least 74+ yards/scores 39 points. Defensive line has only 6 sacks in 6 games.
Palmer has had bad moments… so has Chad. Chad has looked far worse, overall, than Palmer, and Palmer would have had more yards/points if not for several drops, quite a few of them from Chad. The OL has been inconsistent, too. Not saying Palmer doesn’t share the blame, saying that HE is the reason things aren’t going well is a dumb statement.
Even if they draft a QB to eventually replace Palmer, they won’t cut Palmer next year. Maybe he doesn’t finish the contract, but no way he’s let go for next year.

Palmer hasn’t been the same since Kimo rolled on his leg in the playoffs. He whines about hating the Steelers, gets the weapons in TO & Ocho, then is a piece of shiite.

I’m not a Bengals fan but I’m highly entertained by Ocho. Sure, he’s trying to make football fun for the fans, but the fact is that those fans that love their Bengals will be more entertained when Cincy puts some W’s on the board. If he played for my team I wouldn’t be nearly as tolerant of his extra curricular activities!
Chad doesn’t look the same this year as last. Not as much effort from him I don’t think. Quite possibly because the coaches are using him to open T.O. up and keep that diva happy. A happy T.O. = a productive T.O.

I’m a lifelong Bengals fan and I can’t stand Ochocinco.
Yes Carson is on the downside of his career, but who does Chad think he is to even THINK about calling someone out?
Spend more time at OTA’s and in the film room, and less time trying to get your face on TV…then you’ll be able to criticize someone else.

I’m not a huge Carson Palmer fan, but something is wrong with his arm. His throwing elbow is heavily padded. I was @ the Georgia Dome for his game against the Falcons, and his throws had NO ZIP at all. He’s throwing lollipops out there. To bad they have a runt as the back-up. Can you say 6-10 season.

Predictably the crowd in here who generally have their views skewed by what kind of people they like or dont’ like, which usually depends on what a guy looks like or does off the field, can’t be objective. Carson palmer has been on a Boomeresque type downward spiral to his career since before his elbow injury, and it’s only getting worse.

Fantasy stats mean nothing, wins mean everything. The Bengals have 2 wins.
I live in Cincinnati, and I have seen every minute of every Bengals game for the last 15 years. The reason why I divulge this information is to tell you without a shadow of a doubt that Carson Palmer is (but not the only) problem. Chad and his prancing is also a major problem. Our lax coaching staff is a major problem. Our pathetic offensive line, defensive line, lack of pass rush and nonexistant return game is definitely a problem.
BUT Carson is the quarterback, he leads this team, and right now he is leading this team to a top 5 pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
Go back to watching Matt Berry stroke Tim Hasselbeck on Sundays because you obviously do not understand the actual game of football.

He can’t blame Carson. Most of the time when there is miscommunication you can see Ocho or T.O getting schooled on the sideline on how the route should have been run. Then, there’s the drops and failure to win the battle with the CB for contested balls.
Palmer has been throwing some bad balls but probably not near as many as it appears.
Chad may have gotten his feelings hurt last week when Carson yelled at him on the field. You could read his lips saying “G_d Da_it Chad! Comon!” That shows some building frustration with a receiver who should be spending more time in the playbook and less time tweeting, reality shows etc.
Bench him.

Carson Palmer is not the QB he once was. He doesn’t seem to have much accuracy any more. Chad Johnson was a much better receiver than “Ochocinco”. He can’t seem to consistently remember what route to run, and he does not get separation like he used to. T.O. is having a good year but he has a few hunred yards worth of drops as well.

I think before Chad declares he’s done everything, he needs to be here for an offseason.
I think before Carson is put out to pasture, he needs a quality offensive line giving him time.
Maybe they’re both finished. Maybe they aren’t. However, Carson hasn’t had good protection since the 2006 season, and Chad hasn’t been Chad since he worked year round with Carson.

Chad has lost a step and hasn’t figured out that he needs to become a good route runner to compensate. He seems to think he can get open on speed alone. Palmer is not a top ten QB – he’s had one good season in 2005. This year his comp % and rating are #20 and YPA is #24. Not exactly elite QB #’s. He does rank #3 in Att./gm.
Too bad they don’t play the boys this year.

Ocho has been one of my favorite players, but he needs to get with the program. He’s right if he’s implying that Palmer isn’t getting it done, but he’s been off his game too. Running the wrong route, dropping passes, etc.
My totally uninformed opinion is that Palmer’s problem is physical. Injuries have messed up his mechanics, and his arm can’t make the throws like it used to. But at least he’s trying, worked out with his receivers in the offseason, and knows that his chance is slipping away.
Ocho does Dancing with the Stars and has his dating show and the T.Ocho show…he should just focus on winning a super bowl. That would make him much more marketable for all his other extracurriculars.

T.O and Ocho will be gone next year and this will be a better group at WR. The T.Ocho show will combine for the most drops of any starting WR tandem in the league by the end of the year.
