Report: Childress safe for at least another week

Before Sunday’s Cardinals-Vikings game, some Vikings players reportedly wanted to see coach Brad Childress fired even if the Vikings won the game.

Given the way the Vikings won the game, it’s likely not happening.

Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that, indeed, Childress will remain on board for next weekend’s game against the Bears at Soldier Field.

“We’re all good,” an unnamed team source told Fowler.

Fowler also reports that owner Zygi Wilf shouted “great heart” to his team after the game.

Childress had this to say about his status: “They came expecting to see an execution and they ended up with a pretty good football game.”

Right, but plenty of them still want to see the execution.
