I didn’t know they were highly rated to begin with. I’m pretty sure everybody realizes Polamalu is the only good player in that group. Ike Taylor may be slightly above average.
I agree with everything Deb said. The Spygate excuse is just Patriots haters version of the refs excuse for Steelers haters. Excuses, excuses. The Steelers lost those AFC Championships. Outplayed, outcoached. Simple. They were also 6 and 9 years ago. Let’s move on.
And if you think the Pats are gonna roll over for the Steelers just because the Browns trounced them, maybe you should check out what happened in New Orleans on Halloween.
Anyhoo, I think this could be a really good game. Two good quarterbacks playing against two bad secondaries. The Steelers throwbacks will be on show. Heinz will be rocking. The Steelers D is slightly better than the Patriots. I think I’m looking for a bit of a shootout here, and hopefully those advantages will cause Brady to make one more mistake than Ben does and the Steelers eek one out. This is it, Steelers fans. 6-2 for the past four years. Will this be like 2007 and 2009 or more like 2008? We’ll find out a lot about this team Sunday. Game of the year for them without a doubt. GO STEELERS.

Good grief, us bringing up that Spygate nonsense is as silly as dimwits ranting about steroids in the 70s. Everyone used steroids then and everyone filmed–legally. Then the league changed the rule, but Belichick didn’t stop. It was more about his arrogance than anything. They had their best season after the tapes were confiscated.
This is one of the top four teams in the NFL and was just outplayed by the Browns on the road. They’ll be at home, looking for redemption, on a national stage. And they always step up for the Steelers. We should have beaten New Orleans, but … Sanders blew up a sure TD pass to Ward … Heath fumbled heading into the red zone, leading to a score the other way … our ever-reliable kicker predictably missed a field goal … and we failed to challenge what apparently would have been a TD. So we’d be fools to take New England lightly.

I thought Polomalu had a concussion too. Seems he looks a bit like a teenage girl from behind, and Roethlisberger apparently followed him into the rest room at half time and Polomalu was struck in the head with Ben’s Patriot Missile.

There have been a ton of injuries for just one half of a football season, let’s hope the second half is just as hard hitting, but with fewer injuries.
As for Pittsburgh, the last team they can complain to is the Patriots. I mean the Patriots have lost Leigh Bodden (led the team in interceptions last season), Ty Warren, Kevin Faulk–all for the season, not to mention the personnel losses of Moss and Maroney (okay so maybe that’s not really a loss), plus Fred Taylor has yet to play and Patrick Chung has missed the last two games. Oh yeah, their kicker is out for two weeks too. Given all that, I would say the Steelers are a heck of a lot healthier than the Patriots. Still, expect New England to go into Ketchup Stadium and pull this one out. Go Browns–Beat the Jets!!!

I’m from pgh and can live with the Steelers being the second best franchise in the last 15 yrs to New England * ( asterisk for SpyGate ). Going back further, the Steelers are 6 and 1 in the Superbowl ( NE is 3 and 5 ). Except for a stint in the mid early to mid 80′s Steelers fans haven’t had to sit through to many meaningless ( over by game 8 ) seasons in the last 40 years.

Yet they have played 3 regular season games since the last playoff game and the Patriots killed the Steelers in 2 of them. The one the Steelers won was a Patriot team without Brady.
And if you really believe they won those playoff games because of video you are just as dumb as Joey Porter!
Considering they won the first AFC championship game with a punt ret and a blocked FG. Last time I checked defensive signals has nothing to do with special teams.
