I’m griping about his play call ability, not his people skills. The man screwed up just before half time in the Packer and Patriots game. With 20 secs, took a knee at mid field. At the Patriots, had a chance to take the lead, instead went for it on 4th and 1 and came up short. Total stupidity. Not too many other NFL coaches would have done that.

I take away from this article that some of the players don’t respect Chilly (“We know that Childress doesn’t have our backs, so why should we have his?”). Consequently, I’m not going to like that person very much either. One thing leads to another. But, we don’t know who the complaining players are. Maybe they are bitter 3rd stringers who never see the field? Not that they are any less believable. But that would make them more likely to air the dirty locker room laundry even though it’s anonymously.

And this is not by any means comparable to prime time television in the late 90s. Daytime television (soap operas) in any decade? Yes. But this is almost weirder than an American soap opera. This is like Mexican soap opera stuff. That’s how weird and dysfunctional things are at Winter Park.

If it’s starters like Ray Edwards, who is upset that he didn’t get a big contract on the basis of the playoff game with Dallas, who cares? But if it’s team guys like Pat Williams or Winfield, that’s a problem. It’s not Peterson. That’s not his style, plus he gave Childress a hug before the Arizona game. Wait! That’s a problem because Childress did get a hug and he never acknowledged it during that infamous press conference. How did Florio miss this?

I may like a guy but if the end result is if he isn’t producing up to the expectations that have been set and agreed upon and he has been given the tools to sucede, well its time for him to kick rocks. Identify the problem, come up with solution and implement it. The problem is execution, game planning, management and adjustments. One thing that bothers me is going into the season, Coach Clueless should have recognized the OL problem. Nothing was done. You can have all-pros at all the skill positions but if the blocking ain’t there, there worthless. You have 9 million for a WR for 12 games but you don’t look for OL before and during season. Just one example of bad decisions. You can be a apologist for Clueless all you want, stay focused on the finished product, what you see on game day. It has become a embarrassment. Identified.
