Rex Ryan dresses up as Rob, puts bounty on brother's head

During his time as an NFL coach in the 1980s, Buddy Ryan was accused of putting bounties on opposing players’ heads.

This week Buddy’s sons, Jets coach Rex Ryan and Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, are preparing to square off against each other. And Rex says he’s learned a little something from his old man.

“There is a rumor going around that there has been a bounty placed on his head,” Rex said today. “Let’s be honest: There is a bounty.”

So how much will Rex give his players if they take his brother out?

“Not much,” Rex said. “Five bucks.”

Oh, and Rex also met the media today while dressed up like his brother. You’d think that dressing up as his twin wouldn’t really make Rex look unusual, but you’d be wrong. He looked ridiculous.

I’m a Pats fan but both of them crack me up most of the time.

I’m a Cowboys fan, and I’d kill to have this guy as the head coach. Great personality, funny as hell and pretty damn knowledgeable.

Rob showed up at practice dressed like Braylon Edwards. Skirt, lipstick and no hands!

Better tell Bart Scott so he can vehemently deny it after the game.

Good stuff, I hope the Vikings or Cowboys get Rob Ryan as a coach, these brothers are hilarious and well liked by their players.

Yeah, this is hilarious. Nice to see the coaches having a little fun. I can only hope that the bounty works, the Bills have Cleveland coming up in a few weeks.
I wonder if the NFL has a rule against bounties on coaches. Maybe the fine will be five bucks.

good grief…why doesnt your team win something before you talk nonstop shit? the Jets are the most annoying franchise in sports. all they want to do is try to steal the spotlight from the real team in NY, the Giants. everyone knows the Jets are the step child when it comes to NY football. all of Ryan’s antics are done to garner attention.

I have to admit as much I as despise the Jets, Rex can be a funny guy.
    Go BROWNS!!
Time to go eat a damn snack !

surprise surprise rex ryan acting like a fat clown and sucking the teet of the media.

When will this puffy d-bag’s act get old ? He’s another good coordinator who will end up a failure as a head coach. In the mean time we get to have him and his overrtaed QB Dirty Sanchez built up on a weekly basis. This team is slightly above average, with a very good defense but they’re going nowhere. If Stafford doesn’t get hurt last week they lose to the friggin Lions. Please fast forward to the end of the season so Rex and Dirty can lose their first playoff game and we can go a few months without hearing mention of them.

Rex Ryan is a hell of a coach and a hell of a comedian.

Just listened to Rex Ryans conference call with the Browns media. He seemed like a really genuine guy. Yeah, he talks alot, but you can’t argue that his players love him and play hard for him. He’s having fun. Who cares. Their team is winning. If they weren’t and he was talking shit, then he’d be a jackass. But that’s not the case.

    Funny stuff!
I think Rob Ryan would make an excellent coach for the Cowboys. Part of me would also like to see him in the same division as Rex, just so they can meet head-to-head twice a season.
    ry82274, your jealousy is showing.
Plankshelmet also. Although you did a better job of listing every reason for your jealousy.

Real question is: how much money will TJ Ward get when he collects the money on Edwards “Scissorhands” bounty?

  20. George C. Costanza says: Nov 10, 2010 5:49 PM

sort of refreshing to see an NFL coach have fun as much as Rex.

I am not a Rex fan, I think he’s a windbag but that was some funny stuff.

If you didn’t enjoy this, then you probably have a “Zero Personality” coach like Childress or Belichick. You’re that old fogy at the golf course complaining that members aren’t still wearing plaid pants. On the entertainment value scale of 1-10 you have a score od “loser”, because that……..was funny!

  23. CYGNUS X-1 says: Nov 10, 2010 6:55 PM

he may be a funny guy but can somebody tell me how you can have “fat” surgery and still weigh 400lbs?what the hell did he weigh before 600?

  24. hitwjk says: Nov 10, 2010 7:20 PM

Is this like bieng the “skinny” fat kid at Fat camp? combined they weigh 895 lbs. and built like burritos.

  25. wtf__seriously says: Nov 10, 2010 7:54 PM

    Fat jokes? Seriously?
C’mon haters….you can do better than that. Guess the Jets are making it difficult on you, seeing that they blew your 3-13 record predictions out of the water, huh?

  26. TweedleDum says: Nov 10, 2010 7:57 PM

Damn! There are some hypocritical people around here.
Some of the same people that were dumping on Chilly for dressing in drag as a joke are now saying how nice it is to have a coach that goofs off once in awhile…..

  27. Marc F says: Nov 10, 2010 8:17 PM

Well, at least Rex has a good sense of humor. something this league is sorely missing.

Man, if that comment doesn’t demonstrate the typical, stick-up-the-butt, insecure, old-fart Giant fan….
