It was an unusual day at Patriots practice on Wednesday.
Tom Brady was not present, but running back Fred Taylor was for the first time since Week Three.
It’s uncertain why Brady wasn’t there; he may have just been give the day off for something personal or “rest” or “upper body” or whatever the Patriots vaguely want to say.
Brady met with the media earlier Wednesday, which indicates he’s not at risk of missing Sunday’s game. (That and Brady didn’t appear to be hurt against the Browns, although Brian Hoyer played some in mop-up time.)
Taylor’s return to practice could be a boost as the team prepares to face the league’s best rush defense. Safety Patrick Chung also was at practice; he’s missed the last two games.
