Linebacker D.J. Williams was arrested Friday for DUI. It was his second offense; he pleaded guilty after a DUI arrest in 2005.
Thus, if he’s convicted or if he pleads guilty to the current charges, Williams will be facing a suspension from the league.
It remains to be seen whether Williams will be punished in any way by the team.
“This is going to involve more people than just us,” coach Josh McDaniels said Friday during a previously-scheduled press conference. “But we’re going to try to do what’s in the best interest of our organization.”
McDaniels also made clear his position that the team isn’t happy with the situation: “We’re certainly disappointed and do not condone that type of behavior from any of our players or anyone else in our organization.”
Per Kieran Nicholson of the Denver Post, Williams left the facility only minutes after arriving on Friday. That’s not a good sign for Williams’ ultimate availability on Sunday.

Well, there goes OUR season. [eye roll] And just when things were looking so GOOD.
How could McDaniels justify playing this guy after all the “character” decisions (getting rid of Brandon Marshall, drafting Tim Tebow, etc.) he’s made?
Williams drinks a lot because every time he sobers up he realizes what team he plays for.
I’m a broncos fan…and what a joke they have become the past 2 years under McDaniels… FIRE HIM! Thanks.
