umm, no, look again. i made a tongue-in-cheek comment the other day, but i’m of the mind that if the pats were caught, there were at least 5 other teams that did not, and thats a very conservative number.

Regardless of the mind you’re of (if that makes any sense), you’re no better than the trolls who aren’t, for being that way. I think you know what I mean.

Whiner? The Steelers got beat. In fact, I’m not sure the Steelers were there. They were terrible. This wasn’t the first time New England put it to the Steelers.

Excuses? Well, the Steelers are missing the two starting tackles on offense and the left guard on occasion. And the Steelers are missing both defensive ends. But much of the team was terrible and the offensive coordinator should have called more running plays in the beginning to allow the offensive line to gain it’s footing.

Whether you can see the quantum shift in professional football from the National Fine League or not isn’t my concern. When Browns players start getting fined and then defensive players pull up on plays then maybe you will understand. Or maybe you won’t.

Congratulations on Colt McCoy. The young man plays like a winner. Decisive, focused and a player.

Yeah, I get it, you two are clearly head-and-shoulders above the rest of us, in terms of your maturity and ability to convey your feelings in a somewhat level manner. No excuses about anything, we lost. It is one game, and I don’t think the season is over yet, although from briefly skimming some of the above comments by people who did exactly what they accuse Steelers fans of doing you would think the season did end and the Steelers were winless.

Hopefully, the Steelers will regroup, and find some healthly bodies to play Oakland next week.

Trying to figure out why you’d be relieved. The Pats I saw last night are who I thought they were. Then I remember last week. Didn’t see the game, but that must have been some kind of weird anomaly. The Pats I saw last night looked like the Pats of old.

Please spare us the holier-than-thou bit. If your wife truly cared about women’s issues, she would have taken time to study the facts in the Roethlisberger case. Then she would know the medical exam showed the accuser wasn’t raped, which is why the prosecutor said there was no evidence a crime occurred. As a longtime advocate for rape victims, I can assure you that women who make false claims do a lot more harm than football players who drink too much. And fans who claim they only root for the defense because there’s a bad guy on the offense are full of it. A team is a team.

The Steelers haven’t had a good CB since Rod Woodson, that’s a long time ago now.

Their DB’s have been protected for years by zone dogs.

The Pats are hiding their deficiencies on defense in much the same fashion, it’s all based on pressure.

Smart QB’s expose defenses like these, like Brady did yesterday, with short accurate passes in zone gaps.

That’s not “hating”, that’s called “smoke and mirrors”.

But doesn’t it stand to reason that a young defense like the Patriots have (4 rookie starters) will only get better as the season goes on?

The past two times they have played. The Patriots got hammered in the playoffs and squeeked out an OT win. In the playoffs, Brady was 23/42 for 154 yds, 2td, 3 int and was sacked 3 times. This year against Baltimore he had one of his worst games 27/44, 1 td, 2 int. Baltimore had 3 sacks and 5 QB hits.

There were maybe 4 plays all game where Brady was pressured and he didn’t complete one. Most of the time they rushed 3. Brady is very good at identifying the blitz and dumping the ball off. Once the blitz/rush gets past the line of scrimmage, he is not very good when he is pressured. They pass the ball 71% of the time, because the Steeler’s corners can’t cover well enough, particularly William Gay. Baltimore’s secondary is as bad as Pittsburgh, the difference is they blitzed the crap out of Brady. If the Steelers would have followed the Raven blueprint they would have won the game.

Yes you are correct, on that play. But they blitzed more than just that one play.
All I’m saying throughout his career all coaches have acknowledged if you blitz Brady he will kill you.

Last week the Browns chose not to blitz’s Brady, for that very reason.

In the last 6 games vs the Steelers the Patriots have passed the ball 71% of the time.
Pittsburg is known for its blitzing, why would they throw that many times if Brady is below average vs the blitz?

The Steelers earned that loss.

The defense for some reason did not blitz a whole lot. When they did Brady looked awful? When Brady is pressured he is below average. Lucky for him his coach is smart enough to run a system that keeps the D off of him. Part of the pass defenses problems go back to the preseason game against Denver. Keenan Lewis played awful and took out his frustration on a clock. He has been in the doghouse evr since and has not seen much of the field. He is not a savior, but he is better than Willie Gay. If you are not familiar with Willie Gay, watch the Patriots touchdowns, you’ll see him flalling his arms as the offense runs by him.
