49ers waive Jason Hill

The 49ers waived wide receiver Jason Hill on Tuesday, three and a half years after taking him in the third round of the 2007 draft.

They won’t miss his production this season; Hill doesn’t have a catch. His best year was 2008, when he caught 30 passes.

Fielding enough receivers was a longtime trouble spot for the 49ers, but now it looks like a strength. Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree, and Frank Gore are all over 400 yards receiving on the season and Josh Morgan isn’t far behind.
