With Mike Nugent out for the season, the Bengals have settled on another Ohio State kicker.
The team picked up Aaron Pettrey, a rookie that spent part of training camp with the Lions. At 2-7, it makes sense for the Bengals to go young and see if they can find a kicker of the future. The team also picked up offensive lineman Kirk Chambers.
Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer also points out Pettrey’s family includes many Bengals fans. Perhaps the tiebreaker for Mike Brown was the chance to sell a few extra tickets.
