Titans lose starting tight end to knee surgery

Craig Stevens, Paul Oliver

The Titans will play Sunday without starting tight end Craig Stevens, who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this week.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports the surgery was to repair meniscus damage, who usually takes a few weeks to recover from.  Bo Scaife and second-year player Jared Cook will have to step up their roles.  Stevens is a big part of the team’s running game.

The team has been hesitant to use Cook, so perhaps the team will just go with three receiver formations more often.
