Antonio Gates inactive for Chargers vs. Broncos

Chargers tight end Antonio Gates is inactive and won’t play tonight against the Broncos.

With Gates out, Randy McMichael will get the start at tight end. In better news for the Chargers, receiver Malcom Floyd is active and ready to go.

The Chargers’ other inactives are safety Steve Gregory, defensive end Travis Johnson, running back Ryan Mathews, receiver Legedu Naanee, defensive back Darrell Stuckey and tight end Kris Wilson. In a bit of a strange game day roster configuration, kicker Kris Brown is actually listed as the third quarterback.

The Broncos’ inactives are third quarterback Brady Quinn, cornerback AndrĂ© Goodman, running back Laurence Maroney, cornerback Cassius Vaughn, linebacker Robert Ayers, offensive lineman Stanley Daniels, offensive lineman Eric Olsen and linebacker David Veikune.

Good, get Mr. Gates healthy for the fantasy playoffs (and likely the NFL playoffs).

Ok, so what happens if Brown has to come in before the 4th quarter to kick?? Is he the QB the rest of the game??
