Chargers take control on Monday night

San Diego’s bye week didn’t slow down Philip Rivers and the Chargers passing game.

Even with Antonio Gates still out and Vincent Jackson on the roster exempt list, Rivers threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the first half against the Broncos on Monday night to help build a 21-7 lead.

Patrick Crayton had two catches of 40 yards or more in the half.  One was a screen pass in which Crayton made Brian Dawkins whiff on the way to a long score.   (Crayton had his wrist looked at after the touchdown and is questionable to return.)

Denver started the game strong with an opening drive touchdown, but their defense continues to be leaky this year.  At 3-6, you could make the case the Broncos are still alive in the AFC West if they somehow came back to win Monday night..

It’s looking a lot more likely that the Chargers will  reach .500 for the first time since they were 2-2.

  1. Mickey D is in way over his head.

He was so confident last year at 6-0. Since then, not so much.

    What a Donkey.

joetoronto is getting it done. He takes time out of his Charger hate for a little Denver love. Nice work, Joe.

  3. Chargers would be undefeated if the special teams had been fixed from the start of the year. Rivers and Phillips are the offensive and defensive MVP’s of the league. Michael Vick who?

  4. season after season, the same old Chargers
bad start to season, then finish it strong, beat the Colts & then lose to somebody else in the playoffs

  5. The Bronco’s are sicker than you think…

A pretend team with a pretend coach. The entire deal is a sick scam for ticket revenue without producing an ounce of real competition.
