Redskins-Titans one-liners

Despite a slew of injuries, the Redskins’ defense shut out WR Randy Moss and held the Titans to 373 net yards in Sunday’s 19-16 victory.

Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall shadowed Moss in coverage for most of the game.

Redskins WR Santana Moss is averaging seven catches for 89 yards per game when he doesn’t play the Eagles this season.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan pulled OL Stephon Heyer aside after Sunday’s win and told him “I’m proud of you” after Heyer was forced to play offensive guard for the first time in his life against Tennessee.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher observed that WR Randy Moss was “open early in the game,” but QB Vince Young simply refused to throw him the ball.

Titans RB Chris Johnson is averaging 6.5 yards per carry since the team acquired Moss, compared to a 4.05 average prior to Moss’ arrival.

The Titans allowed the Redskins to convert 8-of-16 third-down chances and possess the ball for more than 40 minutes on Sunday.

The Titans also doomed themselves with penalties.
