Shawne Merriman may never suit up for the Bills

In his first practice as a waiver-claim member of the Buffalo Bills, linebacker Shawne Merriman suffered a lower leg injury.

Asked whether Merriman will practice this week as the two-wins-in-a-row Bills prepare to host the Steelers, coach Chan Gailey was blunt.

“Don’t see that,” Gailey said, per Joe Buscaglia of WGR radio, “I don’t see that this week.”

Asked whether Merriman will play at all in 2010, Gailey didn’t have a clear answer.

“I don’t know, that’s a good question,” Gailey said.  “I think that would be something that I would have to address each and every week to see where he is and see what the doctors say and see what’s going to happen with that.  I don’t know that yet.”

With only six games to play, it looks like there’s a good chance that Merriman never will play for the Bills.

What were the Bills thinking? It was obvious Merrimann was a roid-raging phony who can’t play.

I don’t think he ever did intend to play in Buffalo.

Great. My team is awesome. Can we just fire the entire front office?

Shawne’s intention was to sit and earn a pay check like he did in San Diego for the last two years.

He feigned injury for the Chargers as a protest for being “lowballed” with his RFA tender.

My assumption is that he is now legitimately injured, but probably as a result of prior use of steroids and his recent innactivity.

Glad we got rid of this bum.

My apologies to the Bills, and whichever team decides to take a chance on him next year.

Oh, and to Tila Tequila too.

    Go Chargers tonight!

Ima callin it now. To save face, Merriman will retire due to injuries and join the broadcast somewhere.

What a waste of talent. It’s really too bad idiots like this can make as much money as they have for doing almost nothing with their lives.

Did the Bills really think he was gonna play?

Lights Out…..on his career. He’s destined to be on a VH1 show soon.

    Do you blame him?

Isn’t he making the minimum he could make? The Chargers cut him, so I don’t think the Bills picked up his contract, just gave him a new one.
