Redskins kick tires on eight players, including Tony Ugoh

As the Redskins try to push their record over .500 through 11 games, they brought in eight players for workouts on Wednesday.

According to the Sports Xchange, the octet of tryouts included former Colts offensive lineman Tony Ugoh, a second-round pick in 2007 who was cut earlier this year.  Also getting a look-see were defensive backs Brett Johnson, DaJuan Morgan, Ramzee Robinson, and Ko Simpson, linebackers J.D. Folsom and Donovan Woods, and guard Dennis Landolt.

The Redskins need help in the defensive backfield, due to injuries to safety LaRon Landry and cornerback Carlos Rogers.

None of the players was signed.

The Redskins host the Vikings on Sunday.

  1. Hey Mike,
This is probably better suited for a mailbag question, but who pays when they bring in guys for workouts? Does the team pay to fly the guy in, does his agent pay, or does some dude selling insurance in Omaha have to pay his own way to fly in for what is usually just a look see?

  2. Best chance for Vikings to actually win in a long time… even with old man winter throwing up blind passes for grabs.

The Redskins are who we thought they were…which is not much.

Wonder if they need Maroney? Maybe Vince Young? Wait…Randy Moss isn’t happy already too. T-OCHO could use a change of scenery.

Coach Shanny should’ve let his legacy remain at least remotely in place. Building a poor re-tread team will continue to kill it. Better off as an analyst on Fox – where his experience would be valuable.

  3. Heard Giants picked up Devin Thomas. Dude’s been on gossip blogs talking about “relationships” and modeling clothes more than he’s been in the end zone >> . . . Will he give away Skins’ plays?
