Big Ben won’t take T.O.’s bait

On this week’s edition of The T. Ocho Show, Bengals receiver Terrell Owens called Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger “soft,” because Owens apparently believes — incorrectly — that the WWE-style open-palmed punch from Raiders defensive lineman Richard Seymour knocked Roethlisberger out of the game.

“A hockey player would have took that and kept on tickin’,” T.O. said.  “It just shows you how soft Ben is.”

On Wednesday, Roethlisberger opted not to respond directly, but Roethlisberger made a backhanded slap at the 2-Ocho record of the T. Ocho team.

“I don’t need to comment on that,” Roethlisberger said, per Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.  “I want to focus on winning championships.”

In that category, Big Ben has two.  T.O and partner Chad Ochocino possess nada.

Receiver Hines Ward said he doesn’t care what Owens says.  “We’re not even going to listen to T.O.’s show,” Ward said, according to Brown.  “When you’re at that point, you’re just trying to pump up your show as much as you can so people can talk about it.”

Ward is right.  Owens says recklessly outlandish stuff so that people will watch the show, so that Owens can then continue to pursue his second career as reality-star-slash-wannabe-actor.

  1. Yeah, and it is working too – I think the ratings show that 2 people now watch but they likely are OchoStinko and Terrible Owens.

  2. I guess Big Ben didn’t have his rent-a-cops with him for protection but I’m sure that the co-ed trapped in the bathroom wouldn’t be calling Ben soft. If Ben were really soft, it wouldn’t be sexual assult but rather “assult with a dead weapon”

After that I wouldn’t be surprised if he took a shot at you Mr.Florio. Or perhaps his Brother will Chime in.

  4. These two are like trolls on the internet. They don’t stand a chance of having a meaningful game, so they stir the pot to get attention.

  5. You people on here are freaking ridiculous. Every time you see a post with Roethlisberger in it you guys open it, drop your pants and then jack off. Glad you guys could get off … again. It;s probably the only satisfaction some of you get. LOL.

  6. Ward and Ben have the attitude of winners.
Ocho and Owens have what it takes to be narcissistic losers grasping for any attention they can get.

  7. Ben may be a turd, but ultimately, he’s not a trash-talker.

That’s why, I’m not buying for a second that he was taunting Seymour, like every moron on this site thinks.

I’m convinced that Seymour thought he was an o-lineman.

  8. TO came to a team that won their divison last year, is 2-8, got outscored at home by the Bills 35-0, … you would think TO has more important thinks to comment on

  9. I have to laugh at the hater-morons trying to pretend Ben did anything to provoke Seymour.

Go look at the video — you’ll see Ben staring AHEAD when he approaches Seymour, not even looking at him. Meanwhile you’ll see Seymour looking right at Roethlisberger before taking the cheap shot. That says it all.

Big Ben has NEVER talked a single word of trash about, or to, anyone. Not only that, but he’s never said a word when he’s been hit late, or taken shots at the knees (unlike Brady, who whines to the refs if he’s even brushed).

So it makes NO sense Ben would do anything to provoke Seymour.

Oh and note to Owens — no QB has taken more hits playing behind that patchwork excuse for an o-line than Ben. If anything he’s probably the toughest guy in the league. I’d like to see how long Palmer would last playing behind the Steelers line.

  10. Ben has played through major injuries. He’s taken more sacks than anyone in the NFL the past 3 or 4 years. He played dodgeball with a car windshield without a helmet. He played a couple weeks after an emergency appendectomy. He made the Super Bowl winning drive in the last minute of the game with a broken rib.

Ben doesn’t need to prove his “toughness” to a guy like T.O.

  11. Even on Thanksgiving the Steeler hating retards are out to jump on any Steelers story they can find. Some of you f***ing people are sad. Just sad…

There is work to do in Cincinnati and this diverts TO’s attention from it. If he is running his mouth about others, he doesn’t have to recognize how terrible he and his team are.

Who will he be playing for next year? Not a winner, f’sure.

  13. Kudos for Ben for taking the high road and not commenting on the situation; similar to how Tomlin handled the situation. They’re focused on winning footballgames – not fueling the drama and gossip. Keep up the positive changes Ben!

  14. The say something without saying anything approach. Pure and simple, that is what Ben did. I don’t know or care about his past and transgressions, obviously he wasn’t arrested and charged and none of us were there, so we won’t ever know, and I don’t like him or the Steelers at all, just how I don’t care much for Dallas, the Colts or the Patriots but love him or hate him, he did respond to T.O.’s comments.
As an earlier poster stated, he said “kiss the rings.”
He does have two rings and those championships are why players are supposed to play the game. Not all of the money or extra garbage that comes from it.

That being said, I will agree about how people in the media continue to feed Ocho and T.O. and a lot of the time, it’s the media that makes T.O. and others look worse than they are. People try to sensationalize things too much and not get all of the facts/information and run with it. I hate it as much as the next person and I sadly work in the media field. But I always fact check, fact check and fact check again before I let any of my pieces be published.

  15. Turd Owens and Ochostinko can keep focusing on their tv show ratings. The Steelers will continue to focus on winning football games.

Nice joke of a team, Cincitucky. 18 of the last 20 seasons below .500?!?!?!?! I love that Mike Brown still thinks he can be involved! Even lab rats figure mistakes out after getting shocked 2-3 times.

Clown uniforms, clown players, clown owner.

This isn’t the type of comment I would make … but it’s obvious that this is what macadamia, blackbartii, eskinsux, lucky5927, connie73, and jimmysmith have been doing. Sad. So sad.

It’s been days now since Seymour said Roethlisberger didn’t talk any smack to him and people are still claiming he did. Raiders fans and Roethlisberger haters are really dense.
