During the 9:00 a.m. ET SportsCenter on ESPN, Adam Schefter said what everyone is thinking.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is expected to play against the Lions (12:30 p.m. ET, CBS), notwithstanding a foot injury that caused him to miss practice on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“The truth to the matter is that everybody expects that Brady will be out there, despite the foot injury, despite the shoulder injury,” Schefter said. “He’s been on the injury report list before, he always seems to play.”

More accurately, Brady is always on the injury report. But he’s usually listed as probable with only the shoulder injury. The foot has caused Brady to miss several practices over the past few weeks, and for the first time since suffering the injury Brady is something less than probable, a designation which reflects a virtual certainty that the player will be available for normal duty.

Still, it would be a shock if Brady doesn’t play. Several of the six other Patriots players listed as questionable already have been downgraded to out, which means that they didn’t make the trip to Detroit. Brady made the trip, and no one expects him to not play.

The bigger question, as pointed out in the Week 12 Thanksgiving 10-pack, is whether guys like Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will treat Brady’s feetsies like flaming bags of feces.
