Darrell Bevell is ready to run the show

Brett Favre, Darrell Bevell

Listen to the Vikings players this week and you can’t help but sense their excitement that Brad Childress is out of the building.

Even though the coaches have said all the right things, interim head coach Leslie Frazier and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell also sound excited about their new opportunities.

“This week, it was a little bit different,” Bevell said via Tom Pelissero of espn1500.com.   “I still kept Coach Frazier informed, told him what we were doing, how we felt like we should attack them. But it wasn’t like, ‘I don’t like that, throw that out’ or ‘I like this, put that in.’ There wasn’t any of that.”

Frazier does have some adjustments he wants made in the offense.

“We have to continue to hammer some things, because it’s a little bit different than what we have talked about in the past,” said Frazier this week. “I do feel like they are buying into what we are trying to get accomplished. It should bode dividends for us.”

Considering the opponent (Washington), Bevell’s offense may indeed wind up looking pretty good this week.

Hopefully Farve throws some more interceptions so he will go away and be with Chilly. Lowest ranked qb in the game but damn Frazier…keep that streak alive for Brent. Made your first big coaching mistake there! It is very nice now seeing the 30 Wrangler commercials on tv each day without seeing him! I look forward to the day where I can enjoy my Vikes again which will only happen when $4 is gone!

he wants to wear knee pads to get princess brINT to play next year!

They are doing a reality show to cover the transition, but can’t decide whether to call it “Coach”, “Frazier”, or “Leave It To Bevell”.

Who is he trying to kid? That team is mailing it in from here on out.

Please just lose out. We need that draft pick in the top ten. Detroit and Dallas know how to lose right now. Take notes, you prove nothing with the remaining schedule.

I am not a Vikings fan but they will win Sunday and play better the rest of the year. They are playing for jobs and each other now the childress is gone!

Hey ‘desertvike’, you want Favre gone so you can finally enjoy your Vikings again? That doesn’t sound believable; are you sure you’re not another one of these secret Packer fans? Did you enjoy the Vikings the 3 years before Favre with T-Joke? Let’s not throw the ol man under the bus just yet. Childress was the problem, and he’s finally gone. We can work on getting our QB of the future in the off-season, but let’s hope Favre gives it one more try next year…with some receivers…and without that idiot Childress!

Bevell can make all the adjustments he wants, if Loadbutt and and the Pipe wielding Bryant don’t stop with their impressions of a subway turnstile, poor BrINT wouldn’t have enough time to add to his league leading INT totals.

What I don’t understand is how you can have the best RB in the game and run the ball only 15 times a game. Who makes that decision? And for any CryQueen fan to look at the 22 turnovers that Favre has produced and then blame Chilly, that is just plain stupid but to call a CryQueen fan stupid is itself, redundant

Bevel should have been named interim head coach, not Frasier.

  10. stixzidinia says: Nov 26, 2010 9:25 PM

Translation: “we’re just gonna let BrINT do whatever he wants”.

Look for Old Yeller to toss at least 3 INT’s this week. If there’s one thing that no rational person wants……it’s BrINT without handcuffs.

This just in: Brett Favre is a 41-year-old QB on his last lap.

    He’s immobile.

    And he will go down.

Oh. And he will throw picks.

This “excited coach crap” is nothing more than a re-arranging of deck chairs on the Titanic.

LOL @ “Coach,” “Frazier,” and “Leave it to Bevell.”

One of the few real Vikings fans left. That posts give me hope that the Vikings will be likable again in the post-Favre era. Which is hopefully sooner than we even expect.

#4 is taking that team right down the tubes but NOBODY has the stones to sit his ass down. Write off this season because at $1MM per game, they ain’t about to sit him down. He’s a moron but they’re stuck with him until the end of the season.

nice to know that BrINTs consective game streak is more important to the Vikings than giving Jackson & Webb a chance to play …

I agree with you, I hope that BrINT gives it one more year…..as do all Packer, Bear, and Lion fans.

Jimmy1Smith: Why do you pay such close attention to the Vikings if you hate them so much?

Why do you read every PFT post about them if you hate them so much?

You remind me of a 15 year-old girl that is insanely jealous of slimmer & smarter girl at school that isn’t missing so many teeth and dating her first cousin.

This is exactly why nobody can stand Viking fans. They have huge superiority complexes. They act as though they have something special going on, like they were from Seattle or Denver or somewhere interesting. But they don’t and they aren’t.

Where does this “jealousy” come from exactly? What have you got that a Packer fan could possibly want in an NFL team? And are you the supposed slimmer & smarter girl? Do you have a poster of Brett on your wall?

  20. vikingsguy says: Nov 29, 2010 6:02 PM

    @stellarperformance:

Your jealousy comment has me in a box – I’ve got nothing on that.

But yes, the “slimmer & smarter” is a dig on Sconnies.
