Asante Samuel out vs. Bears

asantesamuel

The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense has suffered a significant blow for Sunday’s game against the Bears.

The team has confirmed that cornerback Asante Samuel has been ruled out with a sprained MCL and isn’t making the trip to Chicago. Joselio Hanson will start in his place.

As Todd Wright and I discussed Friday night on Sporting News Radio, Samuel’s injury may be the most significant in the entire league this week. The Eagles and Bears are both 7-3 and in first place in their divisions, and the game has major playoff implications.

Samuel leads the Eagles with seven interceptions. Jay Cutler will be glad not to have to play against him.

It won’t matter. The Bears really can’t throw the ball anyway.

The only question in this one is if crybaby Cutler throws slightly over or slightly under 10 picks..

The Bears seriously just got the break of the week. I’m sure Cutler is wiping the sweat from his forehead.

Leads the Eagles in interceptions? Why not say he leads the league?

I’m confident Jay Cutler will easliy find someone else in the Eagle’s secondary to toss the ball to.

Those that were concerned about playing J. Knox should feel better about plugging him in as a WR#3 or at a flex .

Bears are going down. The Michael Vick show is coming to town. Funny how everyone seems to have forgotten about him this week.

Looks like another gift for the bears.

Don’t worry Eagles fans. Cutler is an equal opportunity interception guru. It does not appear to matter WHO is playing CB.

Yay! Cutler might actually complete a few passes now… to another one of the Philadelphia corners.

But the Bears defense will keep them in the game. This should be a close game, and kind of a low-scoring affair, as was the Giants-Eagles game in the first half.

I think he ought to go ahead and sit out the Texans game next Thursday as well. You know, just to be on the safe side and all.

Hanson is as bad a DB as Cutler is a QB, so it’s a wash

really ? last I checked Ron Mexico had 1 career TD against Bears in 3 games. Vick is a perfect turd for the Eagles. Makes sense though, a world class turd belongs in the toilet of America.

Resting at home in Philly, Asante narrowly missed catching an errant Cutler pass. His knee gave way when he dropped the crutch to get both hands on the ball.

One of these days Cutler’s going to grow up and ALL OF YOU FOLKS will be surprised…hopefully it’s before the Bears throw him to the wolves…

    You’re right. Score’s wrong though.

Kolb will finish up in mop up duty with Philadelphia leading, 45-23. Vick will account for 3 tds for the Eagles. ( Celek, Maclin TDs, 1 rushing)

    Glad we settled that.
