Same money, complete control over all recruiting & roster, better job security, the kids play more for the love of the game, not for money, shorter season, better gameday experience, do we need to go on?

Point is, many coaches probably would prefer college to pro game if we’re talking similar $$

I think this would be great for both sides. It would be great to see the U competitive nationally again, and Gruden is a great person to watch coach. You know he appreciates the kids in college more – it’s less about the money.

Come on Gruden, do it. You know you want to!

If true this would be a great hire. I believe this would make the “U” a force for years to come. The only thing is Chucky doesn’t strike me as a person who would be keen on the recruiting aspect.

It could also be the fact that a college coach has a lot more control over their roster than an NFL head coach.

I could see Gruden fitting well in the college coaching scene. Energetic, positivity all the time, and a good teacher. That could turn out to be a good match.

Maybe those segments he did for ESPN with the soon-to-be drafted quarterbacks struck something in him?

Could be a great fix for a program that needs to attract talented high school players . Also Gruden would be the guy to restore the swagger that the “U” has been famous for. Oh , and how about getting Warren Sapp to coach the defence? That should make them interesting if not relevent.

Short term option for both. The only worthwhile jobs in the NFL next year, if there is one, are going to be Dallas and Minnesota and they’re more than likely retaining their interim coaches. Carolina, Buffalo and San Fran are messes. Mangini has earned another year in Cleveland. And, as pointed out above, there’s a strong possibility of a lockout. Come to Miami for 2, 3 years, go to a BCS game or two and then you’ll have your pick of where to go.
