Texans-Titans inactives

The AFC South battle between Houston and Tennessee will NOT include the following players:

For the Texans: Tight end Owen Daniels, linebacker Xavier Adibi, cornerback Brice McCain, wide receiver David Anderson, defensive linemen Jesse Nading and Malcolm Sheppard, and guard Kasey Studdard.  Matt Leinart has still been unable to beat out Dan Orlovsky for the primary backup job and is the Texans’ third quarterback.

The Titans are missing some key players, as well.  Defensive tackle Jason Jones is probably the biggest loss, and versatile end/tackle Dave Ball’s absence won’t help.  Also inactive: Wide receiver Kenny Britt, tackle/guard Troy Kropog, wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, linebacker David Thornton, safety Robert Johnson, and third quarterback Chris Simms.

Despite a calf injury, Kerry Collins is active to back up rookie Rusty Smith at quarterback.
