The Titans weren’t able to give offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger the win they desired before he started chemotherapy this week.

It turns out Heimerdinger will have a chance to continue to help the Titans turn things around this week. ‘Dinger’s chemo sessions were delayed a few days for “good reasons,” according to coach Jeff Fisher. Heimerdinger will help put together the team’s gameplan on Tuesday, according to John Glennon of the Tennessean.

That’s a surprise, but the following is stunning: There’s a possibility Heimerdinger could be back coaching with the team on Sunday against the Jaguars.

“He will be gone the entire day Wednesday and will probably be away from the building for several hours on Thursday and Friday,” Fisher said. “But he will be here through late (Tuesday) night to put together the gameplan. The rest of us will install it and manage practice. We’ll see how he feels towards the weekend as far as how the play-calling duties will unfold.”
