Vincent Jackson expected to miss “at least” two weeks

Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson’s latest injury is expected to knock him out of action for “at least” two weeks, according to NBC’s Andrea Kremer.

Kremer reports that Jackson tweaked his groin (not his other calf) in the practices leading up to Sunday’s game, which helped cause his calf injury on Sunday night.  The Chargers did not disclose the problem on the injury report.  Jackson underwent an MRI Monday morning, which confirmed the calf injury.

Chargers coach Norv Turner admitted that Jackson was unlikely to play this week against the Raiders.

Shaun Smith can expect a fine for tweaking Jackson’s groin.

Was he a victim of one of your infamous pat downs at the airport?

This is VERY fishy. I think this 3 game “injury” is payback to AJ Smith.

I think he’s either being vindictive or just trying to make sure he doesn’t get hurt before it’s time to cash in. Either way I don’t buy for a second that he’s actually hurt.

I don’t want a lockout, but it wouldn’t bother me to see him not get his payday.

Typical NFL deva receiver….egomaniac sits out in contract dispute and then instantly gets injured his first game back because he’s not in football shape….typical.

I hope to God A.J. Smith punishes this guy as much as legally possible. I’d love to see them tell him he is to sit his arse down at the very end of the bench and not move until he is told. Even if he isn’t faking this, he’ll milk it as much as possible because he wants to show up A.J. The fact is that no team will give this ungrateful prima donna the money he wants, and the longer this goes, the less chance he has of getting the big paycheck. He’ll probably be so disappointed that A.J. beat him that he’ll go out and get another D.U.I. and ruin his career for good.

Is he banking that the Chargers will cut the line like we did with Merriman?

By missing the next two weeks, he fails to accrue a full season, right?

I hope the Chargers continue to play hard ball with this moron…

He ruined his own life and it’s hilarious to watch unfold before us.

    Idiot.

This dude is a turd and probably had no intention of trying to play well for the Chargers. His only intention is to get paid for nothing and maintain his FA eligibility. Many fans saw this coming. He was either going to dog it or he was going to get hurt because of his holdout “workout” regimen…turns out both suspicions were correct. He actually looked pleased to be out of the game. This ingrate deserves nothing. It’s too bad they can’t deactivate him so he loses eligibility and winds up in the same boat next year.

Trade him to AZ for Larry Fitzgerald… that’s plenty of punishment for Jackson and SD gets a productive receiver, problem solved.

I hope he isn’t hurt. I don’t blame him for anything he has done. The owners are making billions off of these guys and he just wants his cut. Players get screwed all the time. He isn’t being paid what he is worth relative to the other big name receivers. I cant believe people are siding with the big box stores over the mom and pops. Give the man his money or let him walk away. Someone will give him his worth.

Maybe the guy really is hurt. Either way, the Chargers have proved, emphatically, they don’t need him to make a run to the playoffs and beyond.

2 DUI’s in 5 years and getting arrested in the wee hours of the morning on the day of a PLAYOFF game cost this guy big bucks.

You don’t know what you’re talking about so shut your mouth.

The Chargers reward the cream of the crop, just look at Gates and Rivers. As well as L.T. in recent years.

This guy didn’t get a contract for one reason alone; he didn’t deserve it.

If he’s doing this to screw AJ, fine but it shows that you’re also screwing the team and that he isn’t a team player. Show up, train, play the game and get rewarded like Gates, Rivers…McNeil was different. Also like Miles Austin, he showed up and they paid him. Oh well…Bolts don’t need him.
