The 49ers kept their playoff hopes alive with a 27-6 win in Arizona, largely because of a familiar running style. “I used to choose the Eagles whenever I played Madden Football, just so I could be Brian Westbrook,” right tackle Anthony Davis said.

The big guys up front dominated for San Francisco. “Words can’t explain what the offensive line did,” Troy Smith said.

San Francisco didn’t throw the ball well, but dominated on the ground and on defense. “This is kind of what we would like to be able to do,” coach Mike Singletary said. “It’s not necessarily the blueprint, but we would like to be able to run the ball more successfully.

Michael Crabtree made a sweet diving catch, which helped my wife’s fantasy football team immensely.

Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News believes San Francisco’s big win was a mirage.

Derek Anderson’s ugly outing and post-game press conference distracted folks from the fact the entire Cardinals team played awful on Monday night.

After asking for more carries, running back Beanie Wells had a costly fumble and only 13 yards.

Held to 37 yards in the game, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was speechless after the game. “I’m at a loss for words.”

Arizona’s defense was run over all night. They don’t know where to turn. “It’s tough because you don’t know what you are playing for,” defensive tackle Darnell Dockett said. “We are used to trying to get into the playoffs.”
