The panthers game came up because 1/2 CHI’s wins are against inept teams. MIN was wout their 2 starting WRs so that is another unearned win. Buffalo with the worst run D in the league is another 1/2 win. Same for the win against the DAL, another sub .500 team bumbling under Wade Phillips.

CHI has the worst OL in the league so vs SD (the top pass rush) you could expect a stomping similar to what you got against the only real team you faced the NYG.

Let’s apply your own “logic” to the Chargers, and their impressive hit list–who have THEY beat?

Powerhouses like the
3-8 Cards,
5-6 Titans,
5-6 Texans,
3-8 Broncos,
and 6-5 Jags and Colts (the only two teams above .500, and only one game above it)…

What’s worse–look at all 5 of their losses:
5-6 Seattle,
5-6 Oakland,
5-6 STL …
3 LOSING teams, and only 2 losses to teams with winning records:
7-4 KC and 9-2 NE…

Chargers aren’t even the best team in their own division right now!! (and you wanna call out the BEARS?!?)

The Bears also lost all 4 of their pre-season games, and looked terrible THEN–shall we go back that far, too?

Fact is, the Bears team you see now is not the same as the team that played in October.
And did you forget it was Todd freakin’ Collins that QB’d for the Bears against Carolina?

Chicago’s o-line didn’t even consist of all the same players until–you guessed it–THE PAST THREE GAMES. Their o-line of the past 3 weeks is lightyears ahead of of what they fielded previously, and the stats bear that out.

And by your “logic”–the Steelers needed OT and a dropped pass to get past the Bills, is that an “unearned win”, too?
Does that make the Bears a better team, since they beat the Bills in regulation?

The Bears also beat Philly and Dallas, who both beat the Giants…who you call a “the only real team” they faced.
Of the 5 teams that beat they Chargers, how many of those were “real”? How about Seattle, who beat BOTH our teams? Are they “real”?
Were those wins for Seattle earned, or unearned?

Or, as I would contend–does it just not matter?

Is it more intelligent to say teams just have to play who’s put in front of them, and 9 times out of 10, record is meaningless, and any team can give any other team a beating on any given Sunday in the NFL ?
And that no matter what, comparative analysis like yours (team A beat team B, team B beat team C, therefore team A beats team C every time…or some variation of that) just does not work in the NFL.

Wins against Cle, Car, Cinci, Stl, Azr, Car, SF WOW, those are some quality wins right there.

But seriously, where were you Sunday? The Bears took down one of the most explosive offense in the NFL. The Panthers game was october 10th, not sure why that came up. Before Miami, they took down Favre + AP, and before that stopped a high octane Buffalo offense (I don’t care what anyone says about that team, they are good at moving the ball downfield.).

Also, if the bucs beat the falcons by more than 4 points by your logic you HAVE to say the bucs are a better team than the falcons because 99% of the time the better team wins. Last time bucs played atlanta came a yd short of taking lead with 2 mins to go. So, if falcons lose by say 7 points you have to say not only did the bucs beat the falcons, they also loss to the falcons by less points so the bucs are clearly the better team.

Do we agree on this scenario?

The Falcons beat you once and we will do it again. Are you both good teams? Absolutely. But take it for what it is. No excuses. The better team wins 99% of the time. And IF we lose this weekend in Tampa, you won’t hear any woulda/coulda/shoulda from this Falcons fan.

Or ran into the team that you feel is the best in the league and only to lose by 3 (which is all they have EVER lost byt his season). It was a tough game, but they are competitive in every contest they play, I believe the Packers will be fine moving foward. Hopefully they can get another crack at the dirty birds.

They were supposed to get plastered by the Packers this week according to the pundits. They were supposed to lose to the Ravens and show they really aren’t that good. They were supposed to lose to the ‘Aints in NO.

I don’t know if they’re the best team in the NFL… And neither do you. We know that on Sunday they beat the Packers. We know that they beat the Ravens in Atlanta and the Saints in New Orleans. We know they lost in Pitt and Philly. We know they seem a lot better at home than on the road.

I’d guess that of the Falcons, Packers, and Eagles any of them would probably win against anyone at home. I’d put the Saints, Bears, and Bucs in the next tier and they’ll probably beat bad teams and might upset one of the top teams at home. Other than that it’s an “Any Given Sunday” deal.

NE has no D and they are ranked above both. Please.

Huge overreaction to the PHI loss. They were wout starters at CB and DE and Vick had a down day. Wout the red zone pick they still would have won.

CHI’s D is overcoming Cutler but they wont be playing MIA w a 3rd string QB and CAR every weekend.

You barley lost to the Falcons? More total offense and more total defense, but we barley beat the Bucs, cool the point is it’s a nothe “W.” This is the NFL, not college football, if you’re considering a point differential as a status of “ass whoopinery,” then you’re not a real football fan. 90% of NFL games are close games on paper.
