Jeff Reed has decided that his paid vacation is over. So he’ll instead continue to be paid more than $160,000 per week not to kick for the Steelers, and he’ll be paid even more by another team.

The Sports Xchange reports that Reed has signed with the 49ers.

Joe Nedney has been out with a knee injury, and Shane Andrus got the shoe earlier this week.

The 49ers are 4-7, but they’re only one game out of first place in the NFC West.

The Bengals previously showed interest in Reed. But when you’re 2-9 does it really matter?
