Raiders pick up J.T. O’Sullivan to replace Gradkowski

J.T. O'Sullivan

The Raiders made it official on Thursday; Bruce Gradkowski’s season is indeed over because of a shoulder injury, confirming earlier reports.

Gradkowski is headed to injured reserve and an uncertain future as a free agent.

Replacing him on the roster will be a familiar face to Bay Area football fans.  Former 49er J.T. O’Sullivan was signed by Oakland, and should serve as the team’s No. 3 quarterback this week against the Chargers.

Ggrow up. If you’re gonna put that on twitter why not have the balls to do it here.

Aren’t they doing the smart thing by signing for depth purposes?

The “J” in J.T. stands for Jamarcus.

    Gregg,

You missed the ol’ pick-his-brain angle on this signing.

O’Sullivan was the Chargers 3rd-stringer this year until late October, when they had to cut him to pick up kicker.

I like Gradkowski, but he couldn’t stay healthy if his life depended on it.

Are there any teams that haven’t had O’Sullivan on their roster at one point or another?

we just want Gradkowski to get healthy he’s done so much for the raider nation and has given us hope!! We better re-sign him or he’ll kill it in free agency!!

Seriously this guy doesn’t deserve to be in the NFL at this point. I would have looked at Undrafted Free Agents before I signed him.

    What? No JaMarcus Russel?

The Raiders don’t want to pay that 25 large to get a UFLer. I liked Grads intensity it sucks he out. The bright side is if we can get 1 more win we get outta that 11 losses in so many seasons streak. It’s time for J Cam to shine or he might be the next MVP quarterback of the UFL. GO RAIDERS who BTW are one injury away from being a playoff team and thats Al D’s stroke.

You mean JT’s been available all this time and Carolina didn’t sign him? Damn.

since when does “serve as the team’s No. 3 quarterback” mean a person was picked up to replace the starting quarterback???

now i am no sports commenter but I am going to grasp at a few straws here and say…..

Jason Campbell is replacing gradkowski and the raiders picked up JT!

I love Gradkowski’s heart and passion and he’s a hell of a hard worker, but he’s more fragile than a christmas leg lamp. He was injured last year after he replaced JR, twice in the off season (chest, groin), and this is his second injury this year. Who is going to sign him in the off season for anything other than a backup? We have to stick with Campbell and let him finish out the season, the more time he plays the more chemistry he will get with the receivers.
Too bad Brennan was in that car accident, he would have been a great #3 since he was with us in the preseason.

Raiders vs Chargers is the bigest game of the year the winner will be in the superbowl

Really …what has he done…a 5’11″ qb is not the answer. at best he is a back up…and in all reality there will be a whole lot more free agents next year…….raiders need to look at getting either vince young, or kevin kolb…that or move up in draft and try to get locker , newton, or mallet. (luck will go #1) stay put anf d get the kid from Sign free agent like Linart and draft kid from Mizz, boise, or AZ, and give them a year.
