Randy Moss says he just wants to win

Randy Moss

Randy Moss has caught just 26 passes this season and is having the worst statistical year of his NFL career, but he says the numbers don’t bother him. What bothers him is that since the Patriots traded him to the Vikings, he’s only been on the winning team once, while his Vikings and Titans have lost a combined six times.

The only thing that really frustrates me is winning and losing,” Moss said, per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “Me getting the ball and we lose the game I am still frustrated. But me not getting the ball and us winning would make me happy.”

Moss has four catches for 49 yards and no touchdowns with the Titans, but he says that doesn’t particularly trouble him because either way, he gets his straight cash, homey.

“Us just going out here and trying to find a way to win is what’s going to satisfy me and everybody else in this locker room,” Moss said. “Me not getting any balls and things going on the last couple of weeks is not getting me down, because I got to get paid, get my check and feed my family each and every week.”

In his own way, Moss seems to be making an attempt to rehabilitate his image within the NFL, saying the right things about caring more about winning and losing than about his own individual achievements. Moss would like to sign one more big contract in 2011, and the fact that the Titans were the only team to put in a waiver claim for him when the Vikings gave up on him may have been a wake-up call that as of right now, there isn’t an NFL team out there willing to give him that big contract.

It seems awfully unlikely, however, that anything Moss can say over the final weeks of the 2010 season will be enough to change the perception about him around the NFL. What’s more likely is that Moss will, like Terrell Owens a year earlier, end up signing in 2011 for a lot less than he thinks he’s worth.

If Randy likes winning he should have tried to force a trade to the Pats…oh wait…

As a Pats fan I was a huge Moss fan, but now I’m content in seeing him lose week in and week out.

I’m no doctor, but perhaps you shouldn’t have yapped your way out of New England.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad you did…

Don’t forget about your the cash you need for your dog Randy. You know, so you don’t have to feed it that junk they have catered in the Vikings locker room.

“Excuse me while I bit@h-slap this moron”

    T. Brady

This is the biggest line of crap to ever come out of Moss’ mouth. He WAS winning and not getting the ball, and he WASN’T happy. He forced his way out of New England because he wasn’t happy “not catching the ball”.

It will be impossible for Moss to rehabilitate his “image” as long as the media keeps writing negative articles about him. The media is not in the “truth telling” business. It’s in the business of selling newspapers and airtime for their TV stations. As long as the public likes reading “negativity” about Moss or T.O., the negative press will keep coming. Nonetheless, Randy Moss is “That Dude” >> http://clicky.me/ThatDude

Back to the Patriots for another year – with his tail between his legs and for pennies on the dollar. BB let him ruin his own value, and then he’ll take him back and be a hero.

Where are all those geniuses who were shocked the Patriots ONLY got a 3rd round draft choice for the great Randy Moss?

  8. jimmy1smith says: Dec 2, 2010 5:50 PM

Calling out your coach is a good way to build toward a winning team attitude, even if the coach was clueless.

But a big “Thank You” to Randy for helping the Vikings in their special 50th Anniversary season. Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving franchise.

My little nephew Matthew wants Randy Moss to come back to the Patriots.

He said that in his letter to Moss.

    From Matthew

    To Moss

NO! the quality of the food comes first…then winning & losing, dumb ass!

The idea here Randy is that you shouldn’t constantly put yourself in positions that require your image to be rehabilitated all the time.

  11. bluvayner says: Dec 2, 2010 5:57 PM

    One question Randy…..

If you don’t care about your stats……..and all you care about is winning………why did you ask out of New England???

  12. CKL says: Dec 2, 2010 5:58 PM

I’m sorry Randy that’s just not true. You were in a winning team for three years in NE and your NEEDING to get the ball got Brady into some bad habits he is just now getting over (thank goodness).
You were totally NOT engaged those past couple games in NE when you WEREN’T getting the ball and they DID win.

  13. shaggeez says: Dec 2, 2010 6:07 PM

after the way things have played out this season, he has zero chance of getting a big contract, both because his attitude hasn’t been great and because his stats have been even worse. you couldn’t really make that case about terrell. everywhere he has gone he has put up decent numbers. his numbers in buffalo weren’t great, but that was a product of a lousy qb (trent edwards) who had no deep ball ability at all. when they put fitzpatrick in terrell’s stats climbed because he could do more of the things that have made him a hof receiver. moss couldve broken rice’s records most likely and he blew that opportunity by squandering a couple years of his prime being lazy. and now that he is on the decline, its pretty much over. maybe he’ll go to the ufl

  14. mataug says: Dec 2, 2010 6:09 PM

I wish you had stayed in New England you idiot. The Pats have been a much better team w/o you!

  16. realfootballfan says: Dec 2, 2010 6:20 PM

Right, that’s why you haven’t even been moving off the line of scrimmage during 80% of your snaps since leaving New England. Good thing you clarified that.

after winning the season opener randy wasn’t celebrating – he was crying publicly about his contract.

sorry randy, no one is fooled

  20. j0esixpack says: Dec 2, 2010 6:52 PM

Belichick let Moss go, got a 3rd round pick for him, dropped the salary, and now has Exhibit A next time an aging prima dona player gets a big head and thinks he’s worth a contract extension without earning it….

Bottom line… Belichick once again has helped the Patriots get stronger in both the short term and long term.

Randy is about to learn that there is a price to pay for “I play when I want to play”, for sulking, for acting out in public, etc. All I can say is, it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

  23. patriotsworld says: Dec 2, 2010 7:29 PM

    moron

  24. vikesfansteve says: Dec 2, 2010 7:55 PM

His bizarre press conference after the Vikes loss to the Pats where he proclaimed his love of the Patriots was a complete destruction to his future I think. Why did he do that to the Vikings & their fans. It explained why he was playing about half speed but man that was awkward & hard to watch. He is insane I’m convinced of it.

  25. pastabelly says: Dec 2, 2010 9:33 PM

His only interest was and is his next contract. If he kept his mouth shut and behaved in Foxboro, he would have done okay but not great next year. If he ever thought he was going to get Brady money or even the $9M to $10M he made per year on his last deal, he’s nuts. Now, he’s in a damage control mode.

he has been showing us how he really is…just like he always does. He has gone from great to decent to disruptive to irrelevant and then trended back up. That is his cycle and it has everything to do with his attitude. Right now he is going from disruptive to irrelevant again…but he could easily regress again if he doesn’t feel “loved”…straight trash homey…no hate, just reality

It will be impossible for Moss to rehabilitate his “image” as long as he keeps yapping like an idiot (like desean jackson) and allowing the media to have enough easy material so they can keep writing negative articles about him. For a guy who doesnt do interviews or answer questions, he sure gives any possible critic all the ammo they will ever need constantly. Randy is not in the “common sense” business. He’s in the business of whining, bitching, and shooting his mouth off like a newly entamponed teenage girl. He had it so good in NE but he was a damn fool and no one anywhere feels sorry for his dumb arse. As long as Randy keeps feeding “negativity” to the media about his self-fulfilling prohetic situation, the negative press will keep coming. In this case, it’s just reporting.

  28. ybo1 says: Dec 3, 2010 11:26 AM

I like many other Vikings fans were happy to have Randy come home to Minni, but after a month his welcome was over. He was a true virus in the locker room and showed his work ethics on the field. What team would want this around? It a sad thing to see this still great talent go to waste on someone like him. Sorry Randy, the buffet is closed. Bet you wish you could take it all back!
