When Ravens left tackle Michael Oher got hurt during Sunday’s game, he went on Twitter to say he’d be OK. Now he’ll pay for violating the league’s social media policy.

The NFL announced today that Oher has been fined $5,000.

NFL rules say all players must get off social media 90 minutes before a game and stay off through the game until the traditional media has had post-game access to the players.

Oher violated that policy, and he wasn’t blindsided by the fine: As he said this week, “I’m pretty sure something’s going to happen” as a consequence of that in-game tweet.

Still, it could have been a lot worse: Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco was fined $25,000 for tweeting during a preseason game.
