Colts suffer another big injury

J. Powers

Just when the Colts thought things couldn’t get any worse, it appears that they’ll have to play without starting cornerback Jerraud Powers for the next few weeks at least.

Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star reports Powers suffered a broken bone in his forearm Sunday. It’s uncertain if Powers will go on injured reserve.

While he’s not a big name, Powers was playing very well this year. He was arguably Indy’s best cornerback and the team’s other starter (Kelvin Hayden) missed Sunday’s game against Dallas with a neck injury.

The Colts will bring their remaining healthy players to Tennessee on Thursday night in a matchup of desperate teams that need a victory.
