Bill Belichick doesn’t give a [bleep] what the score is

Patriots coach Bill Belichick gathered his entire team as the fourth quarter was set to begin in Monday night’s laugher. So what was his message?

“We’re playing for 60 minutes, I don’t give a [expletive] what the score is”, Belichick said, according to Tom Brady on WEEI Monday night via Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com.

The 45-3 beatdown is one Jets coach Rex Ryan will remember. Maybe it was a case of the Patriots trying to mentally bury the Jets.

Then again, the attitude and approach is totally consistent with how Belichick has operated throughout his tenure in New England. And it was a message that made sense to drive home after the team struggled in the fourth quarter against the Steelers and Colts.

The score and the opponent on Monday night just made things a little sweeter for the Patriots coach.

UPDATE: Here’s more of Brady, after the game.
