Texans juggle roster, sign Quintin Demps

The Houston Texans have announced a trio of roster moves, including the signing of free agent safety Quintin Demps.

Demps was a fourth-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008 and played in all 16 games as a rookie and in nine games in 2009. But he was waived before the start of this season and hadn’t caught on with another NFL team until now.

The Texans also placed defensive end Jesse Nading on injured reserve with a knee injury. Nading had played in five games this season and had half a sack. (Cue the Sons of Anarchy references.)

Finally, Houston has added defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard to the practice squad.

Demps is no world beater. This is subtraction by addition, an example of why the Texans continue to snatch defeats from the jaws of victory.

Demps is a great, excellent, first rate……stiff. Got beat so often and was a liability for the Eagles. Amazing but somehow, someway, the Houston secondary just got even worse.
