Perrish Cox arrested for sexual assault

Not long after the “days without an arrest” meter returned to the rare air of double digits, it has been reset once again to zero.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox has been arrested for sexual assault.

The arrest occurred on Thursday nigh at 10:00 p.m. local time.  Cox currently is being held in the Douglas County Detention Center.

“”We are aware of the reports and are currently in the process of gathering information and reviewing the facts,” Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth told the Post.  “We are taking this matter very seriously and are fully cooperating with every aspect of the process.”

Cox, a rookie from Oklahoma State, has appeared in eleven games with eight starts in 2010.

  1. Idiot. Probably went out clubbing, got drunk and got a little too touchy feely. Sounds like 50k will get those charges dropped.

  2. If I’m not mistaken, this guy slipped in the draft due to personal conduct issues. Am I mistaken here?

  3. I don’t see what the big deal is here. He was only arrested for sexual assault, not ACCUSED!

I’m sure the league will d the right thing and let him keep playing with no suspensions. Afterall, he was not accused, he was merely arrested.

  4. Alright… Let’s come up with some nicknames for this guy, just like all of you idiots did with Ben. I’m going with Perrish “Forced His” Cox…

  5. Maybe the only good selection that McDaniels made and it turns out that the questionable concerns every other team had may be true.

I’m glad the McDaniels era is over.

  6. What an idiot. These players never cease to amaze me. They have the world at their fingertips if they just buckle down and work their a**es off. But nope, they just act like children and cost themselves a huge opportunity. I am sure he will be suspended and we will see him out of the league in 3 years or less. What a fool.

  7. The Rooney family is mad because someone other than Pittsburgh is being targeted. James Harrison will take their heads off and Ben will have their way with whomever has a problem with it.

” Afterall, he was not accused, he was merely arrested.”

Being arrested for a crime is FAR worse than merely being accused of one. That shows probable cause, at least.

  11. y are people shocked? really. like NFL players dont get arrested. They do everyday this is just a case of a no name as normal screwin up. O well this aint a story

WRONG! Accusations are worse than arrests and convictions. Duh! Everyone knows that. If somebody accuses you of a crime it is like 1000x worse than actually being proven guilty of doing it.

  13. The rookie corner brought a lot of talent but even more issues with him from college. Already a 3 time father before he turned pro. More than one scout predicted

Harvard Law, and I happen to be employed as a lawyer by the National Football League. Accusations are worse than convictions, hence we punish accusations more harshly than those who are repeatedly convicted. Please see Cedric Benson vs Ben Roethlisberger. One guy was convicted of multiple crimes, but never punished. The other guy was never even charged with a crime, but he was accused so we suspended him 4 games.

Accusations TARNISH THE SHIELD, much more than being convicted of a crime or spying to cheat in games.

More amazing than this story is the amount of people on here who do not understand sarcasm.
    —————————-

No, this is NOT sarcasm. This is the official stance of the National Football League. Feel free to contact our offices for a further explanation. We will not tolerate anyone being accused of a crime. However we will review convictions on a case by case basis, and levy small fines for those caught cheating.

Borderline hits and accusations TARNISH THE SHIELD, convictions and cheating do not.

Good thing we have the opinion of the NFL Legal team !

    What a joke.

And O.J. was never convicted of stabbing two people to death.

Does that mean that neither of them was “guilty”?

most certainly do see the diff

however, where there’s smoke theres fire…

OJ was found “innocent” by “jury” of his peers…
doesn’t mean he is actually innocent of the crimes. Same theory applies to Big Ben.
My post is more an indictment of McDaniels, anyway.
Favre is just a bumbling, half-wit pig if he really sent pic’s of his thang to her – whether it was welcomed or not. Is that anyway for a married 40 yr old man to behave? Pitifully childish thing to do…

Wow! Really?! This from a Raven fan??? Do you take the same stance on Ray Lewis?

  24. And just to clarify, I don’t think that Ray Lewis murdered anyone. I just find it very hypocritical of you to make that comment, based on the fact that Ray Lewis was at least charged with double murder…

OJ had tons of evidence against him. No one can argue that. I have no idea how he got off.
In Ben’s case, he was accused of raping a girl. The rape kit couldn’t pick up the slightest bit of evidence that the girl even had intercourse, let alone support a claim of rape. That alone should prove that what she claimed, never happened.
I agree that what Favre did was wrong, because he’s married. But what he did was not illegal, because Jen wanted the pics. Supposedly she has tons of photos of celebrity c@ck shots.

  27. Mr. Goodell..
    We’re watching..
    Keep it fair..

    actually ARRESTED.. OMG..

Lets see.. Big Ben.. accused, not by the victim but by her sorority sisters.. Six Games..

Donte Stallworth.. Killed a man while in a drunken stupor.. Sixteen Games..

Hmmm.. somewhere in between.. What do you think guys? Twelve? Fourteen?

    Keep it fair
