Bucs lose Gerald McCoy, Quincy Black for the season

Tampa’s thrilling win in Washington came with a heavy price.

Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times reports that defensive tackle Gerald McCoy (torn biceps) and linebacker Quincy Black (broken) arm will both miss the rest of the season after getting hurt on Sunday.

The Bucs have lost six starters to season-ending injury in the last three weeks.  The team’s young defense has especially been battered.

At 8-5, Tampa heads home to face the Lions and Seahawks over the next two weeks before heading on the road to New Orleans.

  1. It isn’t often you see a team lose this many starters and keep winning.

    CB Talib
    FS Grimm
    SLB Black
    LDE Moore
    UT McCoy
    (NT Price-projected starter)
    FS Tanard Jackson (to suspension)

    OC Jeff Faine
    RG Davin Joseph

All guys are on IR… this team is starting to look more like a practice squad than an NFL team.

  2. These young guys play hard, they play to win , and evidently they play with out regard to the possibility of being injured . They just do not give up and have so far kept all the losses within reach up to the very end. Todays game is proof of that. I hope Coach Morris has some more unknown talents in his squad he can plug in to the openings for next week. GO BUCS!

  3. Damn it’s a same McCoy got hurt before the Lions game. Would have liked to see the Suh & McCoy’s production in the same game.

  4. Why ? Y can’t we get any luck. Everytime I look we lose more guys to season ending injuries. For anyone who said Tampa sucks….. Were winning with our practice squad at this point. It’s a shame we lose him he wad looking great and we could use him for Detroit….. Seeing as Washington got over 100 yards rushing in the 1st lol o well. GO BUCS
