Frazier refuses to rule Favre out

Brett Favre

Amid multiple reports indicating that the Vikings quarterback will see his 297-game streak of regular-season starts end, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Sunday that Favre still could play.

I don’t know where that would come from,” Frazier said Sunday, per Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com, “because from everything I’ve seen, there is still a possibility he could play, especially with an extra day.  No, I’m not aware of that.”

One of the reports came from Favre himself.  He reportedly told Jon Saraceno of USA Today via text message that Favre doubts he’ll play.

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network has reported that Favre has told teammates and associates his string of starts will end.

“Rest is as important as anything to him, and the fact that he’s actually going through the throwing motion, we’ll still get a chance to test some things out [Monday],” Frazier said.

Frazier’s comments mean that Favre will be heading to Detroit.  And it’s safe to say that, if Favre didn’t think he’d be playing, he wouldn’t be making the trip from Minnesota to Motown.

This is not unexpected. Right now, the Giants need to prepare for two totally different QB’s playing the game. Why would Frazier want to change that?

    Booyah!!!

Favre makes an otherwise somewhat dull NFL so much more thrilling.

Don’t rule out the old boy for next season either.

So he is going to have another “miraculous” recovery and get more press? He reminds me of a 6 year old.

It sounds like you all need snow to shovel to keep busy and leave Brett alone.
