Report: Favre “doubts” he’ll play

Setting aside for now the obvious irony arising from multiple reports based on Brett Favre sending text messages to members of the media, Favre reportedly has followed his text message to ESPN’s Ed Werder regarding Favre’s inability to play on Sunday with a text message regarding his ability to play on Monday night.

Jon Saraceno of USA Today reports that Favre said via text message that he doubts he’ll be able to play on Monday night.

If Favre doesn’t play, Tarvaris Jackson will.  And Jackson may be better suited to eluding the Giants’ pass rush than Favre.

The fact that he’s proactively texting the media just proves that he’s out for attention.

I bet he’s trying to see if the NFL will acquiesce to him more by moving the game to a time when he’s more healthy, to let his starting streak continue.

    He’ll start tomorrow night.

Then came the end of times. Fierce storms ravaged the land, mighty structures crumbled, and Brett Favre was unable to start the game.

I guess the cage match was early and Favre won and decided to defer. 🙂

Wrong Mike. My inside sources told me that Baby Cheesus is healing with crystals. South American tribal elders are placing colored stones over Favre’s Chakra Points to realign his shoulders energy. He will start…Book it!

I live in Detroit, and will be going to the game tomorrow. As a Lions fan, I generally dislike the Vikings. However, if Favre doesn’t play, I will gladly cheer for them as if they were my team. I hope other Lions fans do the same.

to all the people who say that it is obviously favre wanting attention because he is the one texting the media, consider how much favre is constantly hounded on whether his streak will continue. it is entirely possible that the other motivation behind favre cooperating with the media is that he has to either way.

Why haven’t they taken his cell phone away yet? He obviously doesn’t know how to text responsibly…
