Seahawks lose another receiver

Deon Butler

The Seahawks entered Sunday’s game in San Francisco without starting wideouts Mike Williams and Ben Obomanu.

During the game, they lost Deon Butler to a broken leg.  Butler will remain in the Bay Area to have surgery, according to Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times.

“You can see something sticking out of his leg so it didn’t look so good,” teammate Ruvell Martin said afterward.

The injury brought back memories of Leon Washington’s compound leg fracture last season.   Butler had five catches for 68 yards and a score before leaving.  He finishes with 385 yards in his second season.

Great job by Butler to hang on for the TD as his leg suddenly had a second joint.

Wish him a complete recovery. It was a nasty leg to leg collision at the end of a meaningless play.
