The Giants’ successful business trip to Detroit by way of St. Louis had its painful moments.

The team confirmed linebacker Clint Sintim tore his ACL and will miss the rest of the season. Giants coach Tom Coughlin had no updates on wideouts Steve Smith (hamstring) and Mario Manningham (hip), but Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News doubts Smith will play.

The Giants may not be able to test Philadelphia’s inconsistent secondary if they have to run Derek Hagan and Michael Clayton out there. The way New York is playing defense and running the football, they might not need to.
