You and I have different philosophies. I love and support my team. If they’re losing, I may criticize the play-calling with other Steelers fans–but I’ve been with them 33 season through thick and the thin, thin, thin, 80s. But I wouldn’t stand by and let some johnny-come-lately jerk run down the Rooneys or Mike Tomlin. Are you kidding?

Like I said–he is to a team what a serial killer is to gangs. He’s the loner. It’s all about T.O. He’d rat out the gang to save himself, take the last lifeboat on the Titanic and leave a kindergarten class to drown. I don’t feel that kind of passionate animosity about many public figures, but I’d rather go back to the losing 80s than have that cancer on the team. What has it bought you? What did it buy Philly or Dallas?

It’s not his place to run down your team. What kind of fan are you? If he were doing that to my guys, I’d be losing my mind wanting him kicked to the curb … then hoping someone would run over him.

No, the Bengals’ many problems are not T.O.’s fault. You’re absolutely off of your rocker. I disliked the idea of picking T.O. up. However, he has been one of the couple bright spots on our offense this year. He hasn’t really said much before this incident. He’s only speaking the truth. If I were on the team, I’d do the same thing. It’s not like he’s whining that he’s not getting the ball. He’s not whining b/c he isn’t getting the attention. He’s pissed b/c we aren’t winning and we should be. So he’s calling out the play callers, the decision makers as well as those executing the plays. I love it. The season can’t get any worse and he’s gone after this year anyway. What does he have to lose? He could easily retire and live a fine life but chances are there will be a team who will pick him up. It may be b/c of an injury and a team is desperate, but he’ll always be an option.

He didn’t mouth off about Buffalo last year because he was in the NFL equivalent of Siberia. The Bills weren’t in contention and weren’t a media magnet. I posted when the Bengals first talked of signing him that it would be a different story once he landed with the reigning division champs in the volatile AFC North where #85 ensures there’s always a mic nearby. Said he’d stab the whole team in the back for 2 seconds of airtime … and he has.

Ours is a highly competitive division. With offseason changes, I fully expected the Steelers and Ravens to be stronger this year. And based on their late-season 09 performance, I expected the Browns to be improved and the Bengals to take a step backward.

The inconsistency and utter collapse of Carson Palmer is entirely the fault of Terrel Owens. Also the complete meltdown of the Defense, yeah, all Owens.

I mean, not only is he the only wide receiver on the Bengals, but he’s the defensive coordinator, so yeah, that makes complete sense.

TO is 6th in the league in receiving yards and tied for 4th among wrs for TDs. Their offense is currently ranked 24th overall and defense is 21st overall. He’s surrounded by a bunch of bums. He’s by far their best player. Clearly cancerous toa team but he makes a good point. As a giants fan, i love this guy.

Owens is wrong, Owens is right. Who cares?
His job is to play wideout and play up to his contract or better. It is not to constantly cause distractions, criticize the work of others and constantly complain.
The constant jabbing has a negative effect on an organization, whether a team, a business entity, a couple. All the same. If he spent more time on helping instead of promoting himself with the other loudmouth underachiever, they might be closer to what they were last year. Funny how Palmer’s game goes downhill upon signing Owens. Funny how it was McNabb’s fault for throwing up in the big game. Funny how Garcia was persecuted by Owens. Funny how Romo was always “throwing to Witten” as accused by Owens. Funny how the 49er Coordinator was attacked by Owens on the sidelines verbally. Funny how Owens got body-slammed by a Dallas DB for dancing on the Dallas Star. Why does anybody pay attention to this buffoon? He drops more passes than anyone in the league, poor hands, runs wrong routes, and causes his teams to underachieve. The guy has loser on his forehead. If any team signs this windbag next year, they guarantee themselves futility as his history has proven. They will deserve it as they would have to be dumb, blind and stupid.

You guys need to understand, and this is no exaggeration, Mike Brown, the Bengals owner, has stated in the past that 8-8 is a winning season. He has also said that from an owners standpoint, winning the Super Bowl is a bad thing because all the players will want more money.

He surrounds the team with staff that is directly related to him, or who understand that they have no real say in team management.

The Bengals are nothing but the Brown family trust fund.

Say what you will about Owens, but if you think he’s a problem in Cincinnati, you have no idea what you’re talking about. Surprising? Sure. But really, he’s not the issue.

Everyone wants to blame the owner and coaches for a bad season–but sometimes things just go bad and there is no real explanation. It’s not like you got your butts kicked every game this season–the scores were close and you almost won, so you’re not horrible in that sense. That’s what happens in football. One team wins and one team loses, and unfortunately (but fortunately for my team) you were on the losing end.

Contrary to popular opinion he’s having a solid year on his own (6th in the NFL in receiving yards, 5th in receiving TD’s). Maybe we shouldn’t be crucifying the one guy actually performing.

If he was ever half as good as he thought he was, he would be with a good team.

It was said earlier in this post, and I have joked about it for years but I think it may be true…Bob Bratkowski must have some incriminating info on Mike Brown, otherwise there’s no way he’d still have his job.
