Chiefs coach Todd Haley says quarterback Matt Cassel was limited in practice Wednesday and didn’t know if Cassel would play Sunday.

Cassel said he was “barely” limited and the fact that he took almost all first team snaps bodes very well for his status. Still, he wouldn’t commit to anything. He was asked what his chances of playing were.

“Hopefully 99.99999 percent. I don’t really know,” Cassel said via ArrowheadPride.com. “I can’t give you a percentage.”

We won’t give you a percentage, but we can say it’s way over 50. What football players and coaches say during the week matters little. What players do says it all.

Brodie Croyle isn’t taking first-team snaps, so the Chiefs expect him to be the team’s backup quarterback in St. Louis. It’s as simple as that. (And it’s very good news for Kansas City’s playoff hopes.)
