Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is preparing for Sunday’s game against Saints quarterback Drew Brees, an NFC quarterback Suggs doesn’t see often. But Suggs says he’s seen enough to know that Brees is even better than a couple of AFC quarterbacks he does see often, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
“Well, in my eyes he’s better,” Suggs said, per Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun. “Maybe it could be my personal vendetta against the other guys, but he’s definitely one of the premier quarterbacks in this league, and he’s got the numbers to prove it. And not only that, he’s got the hardware to prove it.”
Suggs mentions the “personal vendetta,” and he has complained in the past that the NFL goes too far to protect Brady and Manning. So it’s not surprising that he doesn’t want to list Brady and Manning as the top two quarterbacks in the league. However, if Suggs is basing his analysis on either “numbers” or “hardware,” it’s tough to see how Brees comes out on top.
